  • Of course you are going to get a big response. You have something many of us would love to have, not that I would ever give up my wagon but to have something like your car to add to the collection. OH YEAH!!!!

Welcome and nice pics. I especially like the one with the see through aspect to it. 8)

yeah - mr_sp33, that's a beauty :D it wasn't Australian delivered was it??!! that sticker has been slapped over a presumably Japanese one, but looks factory

Year, Model, Engine type, transmission, rear coupling and differential specs please :D

my mate Tricky (Archangel007) and I are putting Honda RT4WD gear into minis, and we're hanging out here a bit too - till we get kicked off as blasphemists ;)

It was originally japanese, then imported in the very late 80's so the owner told me. Its a 1988 Honda Civic Sedan EF5 RTi Limited. It has a d16a8 engine, im pretty sure its an identical transmission to the wagovan 4wd one.. and im not too sure about differential specs. The VC sits between the front passengers, but i cant tell you much about it.. Heres an underbody shot which may answer your question better :)

Oh, and the sticker that was slapped on im presuming was due to compliancing laws. (has to be english or legible).

Your projects sound awesome too, i'm working my way through the members ride section, so if its posted there ill come across it eventually lol.

    Thanks again,

    Steve.

you don't want to see his wagon.... looks OK at the moment, but is rapidly losing bits of sheet metal, and pretty soon will be losing a lot more than that :D

your VC is positioned the same as for the wagon, so it's probably the same... the aussie delivered wagons were D15B4 SOHC carb motors, but we're mating the stock 'boxes with D16A8 motors - just like yours has standard.

    Loving your subtle photoshops too

lol nice. I had a civic sedan before this one, a 1990 model with a d15b4 dual PGM-carb. The whopping 72kw was always enough to shut my friends up lol. THey owned an AE92 Corolla sedan ( 67 kw and 200kilos heavier) and a pulsar n16 maybe n15? i think.. 55kw.. Deplorabley slow it was lol, and incredibly ugly for a car built in its time.

No other stock D compares to the torque of the d16a8 though, im very happy with the engine :)

    Hey guys,

Was just wondering if anyone has a 6speed gearnob? Mines cracked :(

Let me know if you can part with it :D

    Thanks.

  • I really wish I could score one of those here in Germany. I would buy that just to sit next to my wagon.

Nice ride and the mugens will look nice when you get them finished.

The seats are reupholstered with leather :) See the earlier shots to see what they used to look like. And i plan on getting the headrests redone so they still have a hole in them. We'll see..
  • Still the baddest sedan I've ever seen.

Props for keepin it clean, mate!

I dont know how much longer i can resist turbo'ing it. The owners manual is in Japanese lol.
  • I was wondering if anyone had any ideas to a problem ive had for a while now.

When i purchased the car it needed a new front engine mount and a rear dif mount. Ive replaced both of them and the rear dif still kicks when you dont get the gearchange perfect. Ive checked all the other engine mounts, and as i said i replaced the upper diff mount, any other idea's as to what would make the diff kick like that?

    Cheers.
  • i tell all my buddies about this car all the time. a rhd 4wd 4-door in the states would meen baller status
  • Haha, thanks i think.

Im actually taking my car to be road worthied today.. If it passes then i can put my teins on FINALLY. They've only been sitting in my room for about 3 months.
  • Sorry about all the dead pictures, i had to re organise my photobucket account, it was getting hectic in there.

    Anyway here's some progress.

So anyway, i gathered some parts together from friends with rotting sedans, and local junkyards....

    Fenders:

    223.jpg

And every other panel off of this car.. Before i stripped it:

    224.jpg

    And when i was done:

    226.jpg
    227.jpg

Then it was a matter of stripping the car down... and finally got the new panels on, with some primer too.. Cheetah style +10hp.

I actually really liked my car like that.

    Goodbye old panels:

Some freakin huge lizard thing on my door:

    235.jpg

    And finally paint goes on:

    236.jpg

And as it sits right now:

    239.jpg

Still haven't cut the clear back yet, that's why the moldings are still off.

    It's all progress though!
