Damn dude you get sh*# done, there have been ups and downs, but the wago looks tops, I'm jelly, I want a RT so bad, just can't find one close enough for a good price, but I'm gunna keep lookin, subed for more projects.
nice job with the shuttle. I love the fogs on it. I have not seen a set of fogs here in the states where i am on a shuttle. I am a new owner and not many here near me. I own lots of crx parts and few wagon parts and i have jdm acura nsx fogs off my nsx and a set of jdm acura legend fogs. I also have few sets of the "H" honda oem bosch fog light covers and i was going to modify a set on my wagon when it comes in if i find time.
Also Re-Re-Re alligned my headlights, i had to modify the bottom bracket on the passengers headlight as it sat way to higher than the drivers side, and the adjuster would go any lower all fixed now though!
Also, Re-earthed the Fog light wiring harness, as they kept working intermittently.
And then a quick clean for the first time in 4 Weeks.
Best get this sorted ASAP! Any ideas on the nut size??
Not too sure. But I'm glad you know, as the camber arms could easily come undone from the movement/vibration and cause you to have a potentially serious accident!
I think the nuts are m12x1.5 but I'm not too sure. There are 2 for each camber arm!
There was a guy on Honda-Tech and I believe he is on here with a 370whp daily driver RT Wagon, he only dynoed his in FWD and said due to the viscous coupler getting too hot on the AWD dyno. He would reccomend not dynoing your car in AWD.
I will consider this my warning and not ask for any trades or parts outside the marketplace....looks killer . and the above pic on the spoke hubbies are priceless
Got a new Central Locking Control unit off Rich at the Dyno Day!
Unfortunately, didn't fix my problem, so started to strip everything down
Turns out, a small switch which is activated by the Locking Barrel rod, was the culprit. the Rod wasn't turning the switch around enough for it to trigger the central locking. You can activate it, but your borderline snapping the key in the barrel!
So some tweaking was done, and now its sort of function. it Fidgets a bit when on rough road. but works and functions better than it ever has.
Took the Show Rimz off today for a refurb and change of colour.
Also sorted the rear camber out, Finally adjusted the D2 Camber arms i got ages ago. Now sits at the same as the front, rather than the stupid offset angles it was before.
Drives REAL nice on the Watanabes! Paradas give plenty of grip. Rear feels ALOT more planted than it EVER has with the camber corrected :top:
Although, When changing the wheels, i noticed the Passenger front top ball joint was badly worn and knocking. Which would explain the vague steering now and then :not top:
Update on the Rimz
2 came out awesome, the other 2 badly reacted and need re-doing. I might sell these however, I put the Watanabes on, and its SO fun to drive with the Yoko's 8)
Fitted an Energy bush in the front mount today, as i got a nasty knock and bang when changing gear and coming off throttle.
:top:
All my bits arrived today, all at the same time! I've also bagged tomorrow off work so HOPEFULLY get the VT Hubs Painted, Ball joints in, Arms on and Calipers mounted.
Then just to wait for my new Koyo Wheel bearings to turn up, pressed it. Then time to Upgrades!
Got a Broadway Mirror. Wish i had gone for the Convex now, as this one doesn't give the field of view i was expecting, Like my old one. I bought this for the Track day, so i can see where cars are around me. With my old convex one, you got a clear line of view outside the rear 1/4 windows. Was Immense!
Now, Time to put the brakes together.
Take a set of VT Hubs
After 20 Mins with the Angle Grinder/ Wire wheel, Carb and Brake cleaner combo
I'm using MB6 VTI-S Calipers, Carriers and pads. MGZR 282 Discs.
The carriers bolt it without any modifications at all. This is what i found,
One one side of the caliper, there is approx 1mm Gap between the Disc and the carrier
On the other side, there is Minimal Clearance. There appears to be no gap, however, the disc does not bind on the carrier, and moves freely.
Don't forget i have to compensate for when the discs heat up and expand.
Looking good! I removed the balljoints and top arms as well, ready for their NEW replacements. Still not sure weather to replace the bearings or not yet.
Next, Exhaust
Got this off M&MJ @ Dyno Day.
Tips where a little bit bigger that i would of like, So im replacing them with the single, 2" outward rolled tip.
Shuttle systems are different to Hatchs, had to be modified slightly....
Finished product.
Sound wise, there is VERY little difference. Still VERY quiet, so will be popping up one night after work to have a center box removed. I dont want Uber Loud, Just a nice Burble to compliment the intake noise. No point replacing the complete system, as it will have a new S/S 3" System made for the Turbo (Coming 2014)
Both hubs now stripped and cleaned. Having the bearings pressed out tomorrow so i can clean and paint the bit behind the wheel studs, as well as get some new Koyo Wheel bearings pressed in.
Also decided to strip the calipers down, so Ive removed both pistons and gave them a good clean in and out. the Pistons are are in good condition, Only some very slight pitting, but the piston is smooth to the touch. got some new Rebuild kits on the way (Dust, Main and Slider seals)
Today, i also changed a bulb in one of my fogs, as it had blown, Still on the lookout for a replacement lens if anyone knows! (Bosch Pilots)
Also had a B&M Fuel Pressure Regulator lying around from the old 4WD Civic, So i fitted it for the Shiny Points (+1)
Ive also got my camber sorted out now, The rears where running RIDICULOUS negative camber, which was all natural. I had fitted D2 Adjusters AGES ago, But was in a rush, so fitted them to OEM length and left them.
More and more people have commented on it, so as a result of being fed up explaining why it has like 5 Degrees of camber, i adjusted it all round. So now the rears sit with the same camber as the fronts. And it looks Delish.
Whilst the Watanabe s are off....
Could resist a peak of what they would of looked like...
(These Wheels for Sale BTW :top: )
The colour does look awesome, Albeit, looks a bit out of place, Not as i had Visioned it....Never Mind though, I will be painting my Other set of Watanabe's in a Similar color (OEM Honda Jazz Colour, Similar to the colour these are)
My rear fogs were not working, so took the bumper off to investigate the wiring.
Also replaced a smashed lense and housing whilst i was there.
All working again!
Then set about building my hubs up.
Ball joints in
Genuine Koyo bearings
Fitted the top arms, and thats as far as i got.
I need to take the carriers to work tomorrow and try and find a way of taking 0.5mm off the inside of the carrier. Cant get a griinder down there, So have have to resort to manual labour with a file...The joys...
Find a hole whilst the bumper was off aswell, Will sort this next week.
I wish! ive had to outsource all the goodies. The only "Goodies" they came with, was the cargo storage and an underseat storage box (Which is bloody pointless anyways.
Anyways, bit of an update.
Finally got the caliper carriers sorted.
plenty of clearance now
Fitted now slider boots.
Greased the sliders.
Sliders fitted.
and the brakes are pretty much done! Just missing a single 14mm bolt for the caliper. But they are done, to be fitted this week!
Then gave my engine bay some TLC, as the last time i cleaned it was at JAE back in september.
Done!
Also then set about fitting a a rear filler panel, as mine was dented by some knob in tesco last year.
The bolts are in a very awkward space, and the whole rear interior needs to come out.
Also cleaned everything whilst i was there.
Hole
Thats better!
Difference in Colour.
Cleaned the spare wheel well
Also fitted a boot popper ready for when i fit my alarm. it fits nicely behind the rear plastics and is completely hidden from view.
All clean!
Nice clean boot!
Also looked at fitting some wind deflectors i got. They are for a sedan. They dont fit 100%, and i bet they would make a swift escape on the road.
Nice and solid! got rid of that NASTY drivers wing, rusty and rotten.
Colour difference.
the panel gap between the drivers arch and bumper is alot better now. Just need to Re-allign the filler bar again, as i have spaced it out to meet the old, bent panel.
Also, Fitted this...
And FINALLY. Fitted my big brakes.
Came apart like butter 8)
New track rods.
Cutting the rack (5mm)
Clearence is VERY tight...Less than 1mm!
Cutting the track rod (10mm)
Think i may shave a tiny bit off the carrier to account for any heat expansion
Before.
After
And thats all! Not driven it yet, Going to flush and bleed the brakes with fresh ATE Super Blue, then take it to get it tracked properly before i go for a test! :drivegear:
Comments
Great job love the wheels on it as well.
Rebuilt and Greased up the Adjusters.
Fitted!
Also painted the rear drums whilst i was at it.
Before.
During
Done!
Fitted a Shorter EK Throttle Cable.
Comparison.
Fitted! (Took all of 5 Minutes)
Just had to drill an extra hole.
Done!
But theres a problem with this picture dude:
Hope you put the locking nuts on the camber arm! If not, get this done asap!
Best get this sorted ASAP! Any ideas on the nut size??

HTH
Im going to have the Wagon Dynoed Soon - Unfortunatly its a 2WD Dyno...
Would people recommend Dyno'ing in the 2WD Mode?
I like all the small hiding spots in your trunk, and the rear trunk cover, so lucky you dont live in US its near impossible to come across goodies!
Good luck with the rest of your build, looks amazing so far!
NEW RIMZ
Awww Yeah
Tilt-Shift App
Averaged 46mpg today in the shuttle.
£35 @ 1.33.9/Litre to 266 Miles :top:
I'll take the gray ones please! haha, just kidding, why you need so many sets?
Because Race Car

Received this today...
to Replace this!
I had a spare, so i set about using it as a template.
Before
After
All 4 speeds work once again 8)
on an EPIC note! i have booked the Shuttles first track day! place called Cadwell park, 15 minutes down the road from me. Nicknamed "Mini-Nurburg"
Heres a video of an EF9 blasting round it - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rZkjyxzH-K4
Cant wait!
on another note.
Finally got round to rebuilding my MB6 calipers today.
New main and dust seal
Dust seal was a right pain, i tried several ways of fitting it first time round, all failed. finally found the best way to do them
First took me an hour, 2nd took me 5 minutes.
excuse the Red also, they wernt cleaning up, and i got this paint Free. So red they are!
On another note, my wheel bearings STILL have not turned up! i was hoping to fit my Big Brakes this morning
Pressing them im!
My rear fogs were not working, so took the bumper off to investigate the wiring.
