Nice work! I have 2wd shuttle in the same color. Few questions for ya though
Can you show us how you installed the recaros? I'm planning to do the same.
What car's LCAs did you use? Just fork-type for EF/DA? Or EG/DC?
Rebuilding shocks, I have some Zeals that I want to rebuild DIY because they are trying to charge me $350 each shock to rebuild! Figured it's only seals, how hard could it be? :P Or did you not rebuild them, did you just clean them up to look new again?
I just rebuilt the Spring seats etc, and giving them lots of Grease. MeisterR's are sent loosley assembled, then you build them to your specification, RE spring preload.
the Recaros are a 10 Minute job to fit. you just have to drill 3 holes in the OEM Rails and they go straight in!
Whats Happened? Oil Pump Failure, or Block oil Gallery. This has starved the Crank of Oil, which has heated up the Bearings, causing the bearing to Weld itself to the crank. Which in turn has snapped the rod when the engine has tried to Rotate. Also some P2V. Diagnosis? FUCKED
Engine still not in. the clutch is to worn to warrant re-fitting it. ADL Blueprint have stopped making them for the shuttles (21 Spline, 200mm - seems common to me) Which is a shame! as they are £43+vat on trade!!!!
So i managed to get one off eBay for £60.
So, whilst waiting, decided to do some other stuff.
Re-tucked the Injector and Sidelight box, removed all the rubbish casing and mounted them down low.
Also got some OEM headlight washers to fit!
And a new drivers door lock! hopefully fix my Central Locking issues
Extended he 4th Injector wiring, as it was to short to fit in the D16z6 rail.
Getting there
Also re-located the Brake Booster Piping, as the Z6 Manifold has a different place for the vacuum takeoff, so i tucked it and got rid of that horrible pipping that goes along the top of the bulkhead
Decided to properly re-located the under bonnet Fuse box. as it was previously stuffed behind the gearbox, under the Master Cylinder. Was quite a squeeze and made it a right pain if i had to reset the ecu (as i did every day when i had TPS issues) So its now being located to under the glove box.
Take one plug
Chop it off.
I cut 3 equal lengths of cable (27amp - as these 3 wire are heavy gauge)
I did 1 wire at a time, to avoid confusing which wire went to which wire (since i was using all red cable for all 3 wires - Did the White/ Red first, then White/ Green and then White)
Then wrapped in insulation tape to neaten it up. (all connects have been soldered and heat shrinked)
Then started on the 4 Pin plug from the same fuse box
Again, all connections soldered and heat shrinked.
Then welded in a 02 Bung in the collected ready for the OBD1 Conversion, Ignore the welds! been a whilst Doesn't need to be pretty, as long as its sealed :top: )
And finally, a comparison of Before and After the engine swap, looking at the Firewall MAP Sensor removal, in favor of the Inlet mounted setup, and removal of the Brake Booster Vacuum pipe on the firewall.
Extended wiring for the Alternator and fuse box supply.
Fuse box in its new home
It will be tidied up tomorrow! and secured to the underside of the heater box, the shuttle have an extra skirt type thing that goes under the glove box which totally hides the fuse box
Topped with Fresh Oil. Turned over for 30 seconds for Fuel pressure and Oil pressure.
And she starts and runs!
Sweet engine :drivegear: Had to butcher the Dizzy to get it to fit. so its currently running OBD0, which no VTEC or 02 Sensor.
The Crank seal decided to fail and PISS oil everywhere! spent 2 hours sorting that out, seems the Seal supplied for the Z6 wasn't good enough, managed to use the new one i had for the D16a7 instead, perfect and better fit. No more leaking!
Now have another issue, is that the Alternator keeps eating the Belts! Ive now found the problem which means i need a Z6 alternator (D16a7 runs 2 Ribs, Z6 runs 3 ribs) as a result, belt slips then chews itself to death! Ive whacked on a New NEW belt, in hoping it lasts for the week until i get a Z6 Alternator sorted.

Gearbox on! Did it single handed! BEAR IN MIND! that the 4WD box must weight a good 50% more than a 2WD Box! wasn't easy...
Luckily for me, i got a z6 with the holes on the rear for the Half shaft already tapped ready for bolts!
And....IN!
Why you got two resistor boxes?
or is one hids?

I wondered if it was a kind of hobby shop.(There was one on the military base near here where Dad did some work)
