Well, I changed that hose and then let it vacuum for 2 1/2 hrs while we went for pho, mmmm. Came home and tested for leakdown- all seems well so I charged it up again. Cross your fingers that it holds! Right now it's cold enough that it's cycling on the thermostatic switch, brrrr.
There's a switch attached to the evaporator case which has a temperature-sensing probe stuck inside the evaporator fins. Its function is to disengage (cycle) the compressor at a temperature above 32 deg. F so that the core doesn't freeze up.

and its colder than that? Um im not far from you...lol need a/c done too.
I stole the radio bezel and harness fron pebbles' wagon to finish this up tonight. I'll drive 'er to work the next couple of days for a shakedown. If(when) all goes well, it'll go home this weekend!
A funny story about the head unit I put in here:
My buddy Juan gave it to me in 2006. He had bought it for his Jeep Liberty, used it for awhile, then upgraded to one with front aux inputs or some such. When he moved to San Francisco he gave it to me. It sat around my shop for a year or so, then I put it in my wagon when I got running.
Later, I upgraded. I bought a b16-swapped '90 EX sedan that had an Alpine head in it and swapped them out. I sold that car to my buddy Jermaine, and it wasn't long until he changed it out too! I asked if I could have it back, meaning to put it in my Suburban.
So, time went on and it just sat on a shelf out back. When my wife asked if she could drive the 'burb to Florida for a cruise, I started fixing it up. I was gonna put this Panasonic in, but along about then my friend Kevin upgraded in his CRX and gave me his old Pioneer. That went into the S'bourbon and I kinda forgot about ol'faithful.
When we picked up this wagon, there was NO radio or harness. I couldn't find the Panasonic, but it HAD to be here somewhere! Last weekend it finally turned up in a grocery bag in a bin of Honda trim stuff, and now it lives again.
First, have kids. I'm just going to pick it up there... there are other message boards to discuss that process.
Second, have a Wagon.
Third, when the kids are big enough, go to store and get Graco Turbobooster Youth Booster Seats, 1 each. Choose colors to accentuate your Wagon. Or, let your kids choose.
Been working on a little Wagon lovin' this weekend. I did the Headlight Buzzer Mod. What a handy and useful mod for those of who leave the house in the dark but arrive at work after dawn!
I made two trips to the Pull-A-Part the first trip on Saturday I went with a shopping list and a printout from the website showing where to find which vehicles. Six pages! Someone, probably bam-bam, has throughly picked over the Civics on the lot. Go figure. I saw one Wagon on the lot but no parts I could use. I'm not really complaining here because bam hooked me up with everything my Wagon needs. These trips were for extras.
What i did come home with Saturday were a set of Isuzu speaker pods for the FACTORY SPEAKER PODS just not HOnda... Mod. No pics of those yet because they're outside and I'm inside... I'll get to that later.
Yesterday I wasn't able to get what I wanted with the tools I had. Today I went back with my Makita. I got a roof rack from Ford Aerostar.
ETA: Does anybody have a rough guess-timate of how many rattle cans of bumper coat it takes to go all the way around the wagon getting all of the trim strips, etc.?

talk to Yoda, I mean Bam, about the bumper paint. He painted both of ours - and you're gonna have to remove the trim and clean it really well to do it right.

Lots of folks have masked off the trim and had good results, she's just talking about my old OCD ass. Clean it really well, scuff it with Scotchbrite, last thing wipe with acetone or similar, and use adhesion promoter before your first coat.

He did mine on my hatch.
I called my wife after he had done the ac.
She told me she had issues with it due to she got out of the car and it fogged her glasses up due to how cold it was in the car.

You already have enough.
guessing that is why I did not see or hear from ya last night.
I was out back with the kids in the pool (nope not dropping them off!)
My kids would of heard the wagon coming since they have trained EF ears.

Fourth, put "Turboboosters" in back seat.
Schwing! Extend cupholders, 2 per "Turbobooster,"
ETA: Check out that rear seat reading material!

We are just setting the Line order, Just In Case..
A few shots on my way to work.

That is what it took me for the hatch.. (3)
Get your brother to do a multi-port swap next.. You'll like it!
I see you've got wagons in their heads already. ahaha
I'll need to work my way up to that I think.
Thanks for the tips on how much bumper coat to get. I just want to get enough to finish the job before starting.

First I washed the whole car in water and "scratch proof" comet dish powder.
We used to do that with all the used parts we got where I use to work.
Wash first with comet then scotch brite them and paint. Nice easy coats.
I did the same with my wagon.
Taped it off with newspaper and did it that way.
