Was going to install the DA map lights Oldskool sent me, but decided to see if i could find some Element ones; as they are what comes stock in GD jdm Fit, and the DA maplights are a shade of gray darker than the rest of the interior gray plastics in my Fit...
Will pass the ones Oldskool sent me to another wagon owner (holler if you need them)... http://www.icbmotorsport.com/jdmfitgd3map.html
Anyways:
Had to make a custom bracket as there is no place to mount the Map Lights, which you would think there is since these map lights supposedly come stock in Fits in Japan, anyways after researching a bit- I didn't find any real easy/clear way to mount them up.... so here is what i came up with...
clean junkyard lights up...
make a template
cut a hole- make sure not to measure anything- measuring is for pussys...
run a wire from dome light to map lights with a hanger... wire up plug (thats the nice part about getting one from the junkyard no need to solder wires to map lights- you get the plug)
this fine ass piece of engineering... mounts to where the rear view mirror is "was"
had to trim up the foam piece that was there previously so ^the above could mount to rear view mirror location... (anyone with a Fit and who has done this mod will know what im talking about)
truth on the newer fit...i dont like it either. the original is the best!
map light looks real good man!
i totally jacked your idea with the steering wheel. i give credit where credit is due, and you my friend deserve credit for that idea. Hope to have mine on my wagon tomorrow!

first things first, 49 Degrees North was off the charts today. Heavy wet snow but lots of it, weird going pow slashing in it, different but amazing... (is it even considered pow at that point or just deep uncut, unadulterated, naughty cocaine?)
o also ive really been meaning to buy lowering springs, but then awesome authentic parts pop up for cheap... this is in the mail, should be here any day...
read that the Password JDM wiper delete wouldnt fit, so i made it...
did a little trimming and she was good to go... need to cean up and make some sort of drainage plug for the bottom of the mid wing... not satisfied with how this looks, but will work on that at a later date- when i repaint the mid wing- winter was rough on her....
installed Mugen Smart Spoiler... While I deleted the wiper, i deleted the rear squirter nozzle sticking out of the window- you can kind of see it in this pic

That is what I loved about filling up my wagon for the first time and it actually surprised me when it only cost $30 to fill up!
That steering wheel resto was awesome! Great work! I am going to keep an eye out for one in our junk yards now..haha

My buddy has an 2011 he let me do a full 2.5" exhaust on. They def grow on you and pretty damn roomy inside. Great job on the steering wheel also!
thanks man... i remember thinking the Fit was ugly when if first came out, they really do grow on ya, i love it now!!!
however, the newer generation 09+, i dont really care for ---- maybe eventually...?
