My ex girlfriend had a Ruckus that she found at a garage sale for $1300. It was all black, and I had a ton of fun on that thing. Sometimes it was fun to try and get to Seattle using only back roads. She ended up selling it for $2300....a nice cool thousand dollar come up. I wish I could find another one for $1300 I'd be all over it. That chopper conversion is pretty badass!
its pretty hard to find an un-modded ruckus these days... well, the ones that are for sale anyways...
im half hazzardly looking... im kinda waiting for the snow to fly this winter, then i will hit craigslist looking for a deal.... but the wife is like you want a ruckus, or you want a civic wagon....?
so when i installed that vintage steering wheel i restored the airbag light eventually came on.... so i put the OEM steering wheel back in. Light still was on. and no cruise control. and no horn.... but most of all airbag light really pissed me off...
so i started researching my problems, and found a thread where a guy was struggling with the same problems with his Accord; come to find out it was the Clockspring. WTF is a clockspring... actually not a spring at all...
and not cheap...
really not cheap....
while researching clocksprings i found an older thread on fitfreak.net with a guy randomly selling a brand new, OEM, 2007 Honda Sport clock spring... awesome... pm'd him, and purchased for $75 shipped.... its a pretty exceptional deal... i dont think i will be playing the aftermarket steering wheel game with a car that has an airbag ever!!!...
I just read through this. Mad props to you on your fit! Looks great. That steering wheel is so sexy, it deserves it's own thread. It sucks that it didn't work out, though. Is there no way to spoof the air bag sensor?
For those who are still wondering what a clock spring is:
A clockspring or clock spring is a special rotary electrical connector which allows a vehicle's steering wheel to turn while still making an electrical connection between the steering wheel airbag and/or the vehicle's horn and other devices and the vehicle's electrical systems. The clockspring is located between the steering wheel and the steering column.
Clocksprings generally consist of a flat multicore cable wound in a spiral shape similar to a clock spring, hence the name, but the name is also given to devices fulfilling the same purpose but which use spring-loaded brushes contacting concentric slip rings.
Ordering anything big is such a great feeling! Love me some fit/fitment action ;-)
i love getting things in the mail.... but as far as "fitment", this thread will probably see none, that is if your looking for another thread consisting of trying to fit super-wide-cheap-ass-turdoffset-rims under a car via hammer and baseball bat and streched tires; not my style... 16x6.5's wheels are on there way to my house!!
but no offense to those that are into the fitment thing...... i enjoy those cars too...

ya know the airbag was tricked for about a week... then the side-airbag light came on; which i now understand after re-installing the clockspring.... both the steering wheel airbag and the side-impact-airbag run through the clockspring...
so i think once the clock spring/cruise/horn were disconnected i may have tricked the Airbag in the steering wheel, but i did not bypass the side-impact-airbag.... which i think is very possible to do, via under the steering column there is a plug, i could disconnect from the clockspring and run some u-turns... and im 96% sure that would work, but fuck... its not worth the trouble or the time or the extra moneys for 2 more U-turns that would still have to be modded to fit the tiny connectors...
this was a super duper naive thing for me to say a page back. you live. you learn
so in anticipation of my wheels and tires, I decided to lower the Fit.... finally...
funny story. after we were done lowering the Fit, i was like EVERYONE get in the car lets go for a ride!!! We rolled about 4 feet in reverse.... "EVERYONE get the fuck out of my car"... lols ride is over... front tires rub a lot. even with just me in the car, granted they are pretty large and knobby... So i wait for my new tires and rims and see how she rolls after that....?
in the mean time.... here is what she looks like...

Math adds up to you liking men lol
Seriously never seen a man on a Metro. I would LOVE to see pics!

both, how about both!
Cuz we're so close to Pittsburgh lolol
Get a wagon, Bill. You'll be stuck with a Ruck you can't do anything with over the winter...
couldn't agree more.. plus those little scooters are even more pricey than Wagons are now-days...
I was just sharing the absurdity of the mods! :P

Ordered tires this morning...
So, I went with an EP3 instead.
exactly. they did come in 4wd in japan but total bummer we dont get the goods in the US... EP3 was a good choice though, i like those cars...
Waiting on tires?
