Buddy of mine had the kenwood and it wasn't what he was expecting, little bitty bass.

There are many brands of powered subs out there.. the Kenwood is not bad.. I've installed tons of bass tubes in the past (bazooka). Myself I just build it into the car :D
  • try these arent powered subs but are thin and strong but also pricey lol
  • i have a 12 in hifonics and it really sounds good...
    im selling it..
  • i don't want anything big. i'm asking about those 2 because of there size.

you can always get a sub box made for a truck and get shallow mount subs if you want something a little harder and hide the AMP somewhere out of the way.
As for the self powered subs ive never had any experience with.
Have you looked into bazooka tube subs. Even tho its a bit more space consuming then those two options I know they are pretty widely used and could use to have one installed from the dealer in Scions. I have never heard one of those either but the shallow mount subs sound nice and deep and would definitely give you a good sound and dont take up near as much room and weight as conventional subs.

i agree with ^^^^ just using shallow mount subs like they use on single cab trucks would be better than bazooka powered subs.
