I thave seen a 4th gen wagon that was a 95 and it was a EF5 i am pretty sure.
There were 3 plants involved here, Rover, Honda and Pressed Steel Co. Honda invested heavily in the mid 80's and later (1990) ended up owning 20% of the Rover swindon plant too. Honda with Rover designed the Civic/400 together. The panels were made at Pressed Steel Co. (who makes panels for European and US markets) and assembled at the Honda plant in Swindon. The plant has grown to 1.5 million square meters and is center of the European business. In March 2003 the one millionth Swindon-built Honda car and the 1.5millionth Swindon-built Honda engine rolled off the production line - Thats 500,000 more engines than cars because Honda were supplying Rover with engines (amongst other things) under license and Pressed steel were supplying both companys with panels. The Rover company could not have survived as long as it did without the aid of Honda UK. When BMW stepped in to take Rover they had a real job disentangling Honda shareholders from Rover.
Sorry for the rant but it riles me when you hear people say that the UK Honda's aren't 'pure' or that they are 'rebadged Rovers' when they don't realise that some US parts are made at the same plant in the UK (the US 2002 Si model is based on the European). So using their own criteria really every Honda built outside Japan is not 'pure'.
OK rant over
If only we were interested...
