WTF is going on here?

    That race is one they do yearly. Info here: http://www.24hoursoflemons.com/pricesandrules.aspx Price of car cant exceed 500 bucks. I think its kinda like hornet racing. If someone offers you 500 bucks for your car, you have to sell it or you get dq'ed. I lot of cars around here have thier lives ended at a oval course in a similar fashon, lol. Looks like fun to me, just havent ever gone out to do it.

    It's actually a whole race series, there are a bunch of them throughout the year at various locations. Also, thankfully the organizers are the only people who have the right to buy your car for $500, just to keep things fair. I think they've only done it once. If any of the competitors could buy another's car for $500 it would be mayhem, the cage alone in most of the cars is worth that price.

    I ran one event last year in a 74 Fiat 128 and it was a ton of fun. There are some crazy cars out there and a bunch of cool people who race them (60s t-bird with BMW V12, Subaru powered Wartburg, etc). No one takes themselves too seriously since there isn't really anything on the line.

    The ones I've been to are in Texas. But I think they host them in other states aswell. I look into it.

    That actually looks like fun. LeMons...pretty clever. Would rather see some of the cars mentioned on craigslist though before being in that race.

    i like the race stuff looks like fun by why cant they use a hatch or somethin easier to access instead of a wagon. poor wagons :(
