  • FOUND IT!!

Ok...I feel stupid but now I know where the PCV valve is on this engine model! Next time I'll see if I can ask a more difficult question....something a little more thought provoking! Thanks for all the collective unconcious support. 1 step closer

If there are other seaform threads then it's merging time. Carry on with PCV discussion here. :)

So, I was able to buy a PCV valve today - cheap - but I still am not sure where to put the darn thing -

Ill take some pics when I find the place and try and post it here - for the next poor sap that runs into this problem.

Okay - I think that the PCV valve is in the middle of the engine -

There is a tube coming off the intake manifold - that leads its way back to the engine near the oil filter -

I was unable to get to it - but pulling off this hose I could suck but not blow -

When I did I could hear the PCV valve close off so it was good - and I did not bother replacing it - I may at some point - but that is where it is -

Ill try and find a PIC and post it here for the next guy.
  • The PCV valve is in the top of the breather box. When I replaced the one in my dad's '84 wagon several years ago, I had to take the entire breather box off of the back of the engine because it was so stuck in there, along with the grommet. Surprisingly, it still seemed to work fine, but I replaced it anyway. It's hard to follow the hose because it disappears between the intake runners and down below the carburetor, so I found it was easier to just crawl under the car and find the breather box.
