Advice on what to do for driveshaft.

Band Wagon
Hi guys, recently bought a wagon with a drive shaft with a worn carrier bearing. Took it out and to a couple of drive 
shaft shops. Some wouldn't do it and others gave me quotes of $1000 to rebuild the shaft which is quite a bit more than i'd like to invest in it. Do you guys have any advice? Does it seem like the quotes are too high? They include new carrier bearings, new joints and flanges.
Any advice is appreciated.
