Are 88-89 headlights the same as 90-91?

As the title says, are they the same?

If not, can I change the mounting brackets with my stock ones?

    yes, same.

crx/civic headlights will work as well. corner lights different, that's it.

yeah corner lights are different and thats pretty much it, you can change the housing around the light itself,... to make sure what ever year your car is, that the corner lenses will mount up...

i've done it, like last week- its pretty easy- like 4 or 5 screws/bolts..

Changing the headlights is a PITA! you have to remove the front bumper to reach a few bolts. Also you could try taking your headlights off and putting them into an oven and prying the cover off. i'm assuming that's where your damage is.

Or you could try holding a heat gun to the headlight for awhile until you can pry the glass off. I'm pretty sure it's just a few small clips and a lot of glue/sealer holding it on.

    just an idea.

Yup, that's all there is, sealer and a few clips. However, what do you use to seal the headlights again after you've swapped the glass ??
  • I'm not wanting to swap the glass, infact, my headlights are mint. I just want some projectors, and the 88-89 ones are around $20 cheaper.

I can pull the bumper off around 30 minutes. (I've had plenty of practice)

changing headlights isnt so bad- if you've ripped the front end off your wagon a couple of times, it shouldnt be a problem...
save the 20$ and get the 88-89 and swap the housing out,
im cheap as hell, anything for an extra buck.. :D

and you know what, the housing i swapped out were from those
    projector lights-

my friend had 88-89 stock lights and i had the 90-91 projectors,
swapped the housing out with ease...
    you'll figure it out... :D

There is a difference that wasnt brought up. The 88-89 lights dont have a tab for the corner lights to bolt too seeing as how the corners have visable holes in them. So if you have 90-91 corners youll have to fab up some kind of bracketry to actually get them to stay on the car other than the wiring harness.
