Head swap done, now no spark?!

okay guys, just wanted to get some opinions on what you think i should do, i've done a couple of tests to limit the possibilities.
here's my setup.
*z6 head
*z6 distributor (used) which i put new cap/rotor
*p28 ECU
*ZERG ECU and dizzy harnessess

my vtec is not wired up yet, only because i havent bought the plugs yet.

it'll crank all day, but no spark from the plugs. took off the dizzy cap, removed the wires from the coil. quick little light bulb test and it's definitely getting power.

probably a coil issue right? or do you guys think the igniter could be the culprate? thanks for any words in advance.

What model OBD conversion harness did you get? Is it one that matches sensor for sensor on the distributor wires, or color for color?

    obd0 - obd2. matches plug for plug.

What I'm thinking is that your conversion harness is meant for the distibutor connections to be sensor to sensor, and you've wired it color for color, or vice versa. When you changed the plug on your distributor so it plugs into your engine harness, did you match the wire colors on the plugs, or did you match up the sensor wiring like OEM? Who did you buy your conversion harness from? Did it come with instructions? And it's probably an OBD0 to OBD1 adapter, right? Or did you get one of those magical OBD2 P28 ECUs from a 96 or 97 DelSol Si?
  • Are you throwing any CEL codes? On one of my Z6 swaps I wasn't getting spark and I ended up having a blown cap in my ECU...but I was getting a code 0 (CEL light always on).

@Jaker, the harnesses are prewired and gtg from ZERG. no wiring necessary, just plug and play. not sure on the ECU, guy told me it came from his z6 swap on his ej coupe.

@superhatch, unfortunately i haven't wired for the CEL yet. i still need a toggle switch for the CEL to blink my codes. if i don't figure this out soon i'll get that done and go from there on the codes. thanks for the info!
