rear 2wd crossmember on 4wd wagon?

Is it possible to install a 2wd rear crossmember on a 4wd wagon. I am not using the 4wd anymore because the driveshaft was not there when I bought the car. So the problem is that the rear rossmember on my 4wd wagon is rotten and the lower arm detached from the crossmember. And the only crossmember I can find in Quebec is from a 2wd wagon. Since I am not using the diff in the back, I would remove it and install the 2wd crossmember. What do you guys think?

A very long time ago i recall someone converting a 2WD into an RT4WD and they swapped the 4WD rear crossmember in, however i do not recall if it was as simple as bolt-in. :?

What exactly do you mean by driveline and where are you from?
    Thanks guys!

Driveline/driveshaft, whatever you wanna call it, basically the doohickey that connects power from the rear output shaft of the tranny to the rear differential. If thats all you are lacking to have awd Id rather see you get this part from me then completly abandon awd.

Yeah I might take the driveshaft, but I still need the crossmember from a 4wd so I can replace the rotten one on my car. But I can only find one from a 2wd so far. You wouldn't have the crossmember with your driveshaft?

I dont, sorry man. Maybie take a look at: www.car-parts.com Ive found most everything I needed for the wagon there. I took a quick look around and theres a few in the NW here, but no listings in Canada at all. Chances are if you can find one they will have the driveshaft too and mabie you can get a good deal on shipping both items. There used to be a few wrecked wagons here where I live. Ill check on Monday if they still have them at thier yards.

Thanks a lot man. I found one in Quebec finally. But it's a 4 hour drive. The guy won't ship and he'll only sell me the complete car. And that sucks. So if I could have it delivered to my door, that'd be great! But I'll see how much he would let the car go and I might have myself a little road trip. Then I'll sell the parts that I don't need. Thanks again.

Well, both the wagons that were here have been crushed and recycled. So I cant be of any help. Sorry man  I still have the driveshaft if you end up needing it in the end. If so just hit me up.
