Take them to get professionally done if you don't want to mess them up. Since they are chrome, the place will have to strip the chrome before doing anything else to the rim. If you spray directly over the chrome, the paint will chip and will look worse than before IMO

I think this is your only option.

This is why you need two sets of wheels. One you don't care about and the other you put away in the winter.
  • Or you can polish them up. I thought gales came polished with a clearcoat not chromed. Could be wrong, it's been awhile since my friend had his.

Either way, please don't paint the Gales. Get some rotas to do that to. xD
  • Well looks like im finding a professional,
I just got lucky and got them for free, im lookin for another set of wheels I just can't find the right ones
I need to buy new lips for them I just don't wanna spend 300 per wheel for the lip,

    Thankyou guys

You can try a strong chemical stripper and see if it does anything to the centers but you will still want somebody to do them up right after you get them cleaned up. A lot of my two piece wheels only had clear on the barrels so they cleaned up pretty well, but the centers were a different story. My Chrome JDM wheels were a huge pain in the ass to get cleaned up but I don't have access to anybody who will strip chrome either, so I had to sand them down. Not fun  .
  • damm, well I hope I can find someone I don't trust my self doing anywork I have no clue

Yeah these are my wheels but there not bad for free,
I just need to buy a new lip if I can find any

  • I think im leaving here like 830 so I have somehwere to park for tommrrow

I know for sure im goin april 2nd
Im deffintaly gonna try making the 3rd ;)
  • Is the chrome pitting or peeling? Not that it matters since you they will have to be chemically stripped anyways. You might save yourself some money by taking them apart yourself and just taking the centers in and having those cleaned. Time the place you take them can't charge you.

Also you might be able to flip the barrels depending on what it looks like. I have seen many people flip the face and get some crazy offset, but again all depends on the barrel you have. Might want to check and see if they are two or three piece. IF they are three piece you might want to consider having them resealed as well.
  • chrome is peeling, i never thought about reversing the barrels i think im going to try that because i need to buy new ones anyway,
there 3 peice im gonna try to find someone somewhere.

    Omg those are sexxxxxx!
  • I remembered reading about refinishing wheels a while ago and finally remembered where. I have dealt with the company before but don't know what is up with their site. They are a bit pricey but JDM wheels is their specialty so it might be worth it. They can also get you some new barrels if you need them.

  • I tried lookin for them but I find nothing on google or even rb motorsports my friend said it would be 200 dollars I guess I gotta wait and find the numberr

I found someone to fix the lip on them :D
still not bad for free wheels

200 to fix them? Thats good, you should do it. They are getting harder to come by and would be a great addition even if you never use them. Or you can sell them for more. Either way they are worth every penny.
