Was really funny driving it home. Couldnt exceed 35mph due to massive amounts of mud caked inside the wheels causing severe off balance. Had people scrambling for thier phones to get pix. Was really pretty comical. Stopped by a local drivethrough carwash to show a buddy how much fun he missed and saw the employees pointing fingers and just avoiding me in general. When I asked how much to run it through, they said sorry, we cant run your car though with that much mud. They said I needed to go to a self serve and knock the top layer off, lol. I think they were kinda releved that I really didnt have any intentions of actually going through. then they snapped pix, hahaha.
My photog buddy came out and got a few shots, but the weather turned to shit right when he got there. He shot a few pix and then left cause he couldnt get out his truck. As soon as he gets them uploaded, Ill update. he got a few really good shots.
Our car finished in first (me) and third place (wife) in our local rallyx series. We raced the SA class which is stock awd. Our main competitors were random here and there subys and a really good driver in a Celica GT4. The car got TTOD numorous times throughout teh season. Only car that beat me on a regular basis was a stage rally prepped STi. 300+hp, cage, real suspension, etc. He was normally 5-6 seconds ahead of us on a 80 second course. All in all Im really happy with how the car did for our first pointed season.
Plans for next season will include suspension. Our 255k mile shocks are DONE, lol. Im still figuring out what setup i wanna use, but thinking DA struts in back and whatever longest stock style shock i can find for the front. After reading the guys threads who are lifting thier wagons, It seems to be the CB7 accord struts are the best bet.
Bought a harnessbar from member R3ALTiM3gg88 and got it installed with some Sparco harness's. Easy install and all factory belts are still 100% functional. Only part that was a pita was fining 11mm bolts long enough. Went to local pick n pill and took belt bolts out of a good 20 cars. The bolts from a 92-95 sedan were by far teh longest, just a heads up for anyone else needing them
Got a passenger seat from local member dj Alo (Gabe) and decided to swap fabrics for my drivers seat since it was hammered.

Still dirty, but Im having the cars interior fully detailed by a friend of mine that manages a wash. hes gonna shampoo the entire interior. Hoping it cleans up well. Will post pix if it turns ok good.
Next time you find a rusted out ole wagon for sale, think about these pix. Rallyx's happen all over the place. Fun factor is through the roof. Ive only rallied here, but its not like autox. Theres no worker assignments. We jsut show up and drive. No shagging cones. No standing in teh rain/wind/sun all day. Juat pay and play
A few pix from a Honda meat after the rallyx.
Hmmmmm, can you tell which parts got changed between the rallyx and the meet???
^^^ ya oversized tires drain hp. I was thinking about getting some All Terrain TA's, but each tire weighs TWICE what the tires Im currently running weigh. I personally dont think the traction benefit outweights the lack of hp drawback. Plus it just seems like it would be a huge strain on the drivetrain. Im actually thinking about getting the next size smaller tire, the 185-60-14. less sidewall to rollover and less posibility of losing a bead during competition.
However you should try rallyx out. You will have a blast. Its a LOT of fun putting the hurt to all the newer cars (weve wailed on numorous STi's and WRX's) with a 20 year old beater
As always, thanks for the compliments everybody!!
I cleaned my car this weekend for the first time in 3 rally events. 6 bucks in quarters and a half hour of spraying got the stiff off the paint, but the high pressure hose didnt so much as take a layer off the wheel wells and undercarriage. Hoping the upcoming rain/snow helps out a little, lol.
Did you mean rallyx or autox? I assume were talking rally, lol. On our courses it wouldnt be a plus as we are basically running quad course without jumps, but we dont run conventional courses. A lower center of gravity is always better, but in a gravel or dirt parkinglot/field, it probably isnt grippy enough for it to matter. The tires of choice for rally seem to be studless snow tires (for those that cant/dont want to afford real rally tires. Thier light and small enough to not drain hp from an already hp handicapped car.
Just keep in mind, some places wont let you run any vehicle thats been lifted. In this day and age, Id be willing to bet your area has a forum where you can ask questions about thier rules, regs, see schedules. Hell you might even ahve a snow series (which I hope we eventually get). We have an online forum and it saves us hours of going over stuff with noobs when they show ill prepared and cant pass tech.
ya man! not the quality of pix like you posted, but we just had our first event this last sat. theres a few pix Ill post. I was second fastest street legal vehicle losing only to a new Ford Raptor (those things are siiiick!) by hundreths of a second. They had 2 drivers in raptor, I beat one of them, but not the other. Honestly, if I hadnt been giving rides all day, Id be willing to bet my average would have ended up faster then him in the end, but whatever. Gave a lot of people some good laughs
a little sequence action...
the truck I lost ttod too...
and now Im officially not the only one who has rolled at a rallyx. this guy flipped over eventually, lol.
I take it back Look what I found: http://www.cfrscca.org/?page_id=394..

youd think that one would have had the most mud and gunk, but then again, we did spend almost the entire first half of the day sideways.
