Would you rather that this was in a Build thread?

Any chance you used a baseball bat to roll those fenders?
  • byrne_06byrne_06 New Wagonist
no i used an actually fender roller my buddy has and it was my first time doing it. Close up you can really tell where the roller was and it made lines, so i decided im probably going to just buy fender flares

Word. Are the lines in the metal or the paint? A heat gun should be used to keep the paint pliable.

i totally used an old drive shaft when i rolled my fenders, but the fenders were garbage anyways so i said screw it. ha.

    looks good man

Where's the other two Sportmax rims?
  • byrne_06byrne_06 New Wagonist
They are on there i just had a picture with the wagon lowered on Hx's also, Mexiflush? lol It needs to be lowered still. My locking collars on my coilovers were froze so i ordered new ones. The lines are from the roller i had no clue what i was doing since it was my first time. I had the basic idea on how to do it but ya, with the rims being a 0 offset i had to stretch the fenders out so much.

So what did you lower it with? I want to lower my 88 rt too but I read that you have to replace the rear lca's among other things since they're different from the 89-91.

On my 88 I just took rear DA LCA's from the junkyard and found some used rear wagon struts from a 89-91

Finding 88 struts is just a head ache.

OP did you apply any heat to the paint when you rolled the fenders or just went all out on them?
  • byrne_06byrne_06 New Wagonist
sorry im not on here much.

The 88's are the only year where the shock goes into the rear lca's, so you gotta but 90-91 civic hatch or crx lca's and same with suspension.

No i didnt apply any heat to the fenders, i should have but i plan on painting it white some time this summer.

the rear coilovers were frozen so thats as low as i could get it in the rear, im ordering new adjusting rings so i can make it look flush
