thanks! i finished installing my rear speaker pods and sub. cleaned the interior and just waiting for parts to fly in. i need to repaint ALL my trims for the car but the damn rain just wont go away!
i actually followed your thread on HT with the maroon sedan, i dont really post on there, but that car came out proper. I was also very sad to see it in the classifieds! But thats all gone down the tube now that you have hopped on the bandwagon, your wagon is certainly nice.
adifdarkside: i never made a thread for that car on honda-tech. unless you are talking about my thread for my gray sedan. my cousin made a thread for it and i bought the car from him. i still have it today. but yes, its on the market.
jscivic: thanks! my shocks are on their way and im still waiting for my new wheels. im still trying to source some fwd REAR MUD GUARDS. i swear, i use to see them all the time. and when i want them, they are nowhere to be found.
sparkles: unfortunately i didnt take it in. i woke up late and was stuck helping my cousin with his new clutch. its alright though, i will do it myself as well as the rest of the pieces i need to refresh.
ogwagon. thanks again bro. i actually didnt know what i was getting myself into. im lost my job and i bought the shocks and a few other things without thinking haha. now im like..going broke.
shernie: thanks! only reason why im progressing so fast now is because i have the free time due to no job.
darin: thanks! the weather sucks today. super pouring.
Loving this thread. Wicked good work on the body work man, I've been taking autobody for 2 years now at my high school and sanding is the part i hate the most! Love that you stuck with the white always love the looks of the wagons in white. Will definitely follow this! Keep up the good work!
thanks. i actually wanted a different color. but i didnt have too much funds and i didnt want to deal with different jambs so, white it went. this white looks super white. like comparing it tot he jambs..its different. i told them to use the oem color code but i dont know.
2 days ago i attempted to paint my bumper trims. i sanded it down and started masking it. i taped the lower half of the bumper and not even 10secs i took it off to realign the tape and it took off the paint!!! i was so f'n frustrated. it seems like the bumper wasnt even clear coated cause its not as shiny as the car. so i ditched that and try to come up with something for it. i should of just took it in back to maccos.
but yesterday i did paint my trims, skirts, lip and wing. 1 can did like 5 coats on everything!
started raining so i didnt install the rest
tomorrow im probably going to put the type 1's on and hood bra. then attempt to fix the bumper.
just be careful with that plastic stuff, usually you want to use flex primer so if the plasitc were to get hit or the bumper were to flex at all the paint wouldn't come off. otherwise first time it flexes you'll have paint chips everywhere
usually if the paint doesn't stick all to well either, just scotch pad the living crap out of the stuff to get it dull then use come window spray to wipe it down before you shoot paint.
jdmguy: i wetsand with 400grits. i dont use any primer on any of the trims i painted. i know its necessary but i just never thought of doing it. ive used the trim paint on all my cars and families car and ive not had a problem. but the mudflaps, those are a different story because they flex all the time. but thanks for the heads up
so today..i decided to install my type 1 i bought from ogwagon. i maxed it out without messing with the preload and im quite satisfied with the height. not to mention the ride is great. (drove around the block and to this ditch and such) also installed my skirts and flaps. i will attempt to paint the bumpers and the window trims tomorrow. also installed the stock wing on.
now, the mugen lip is there just so i can see weather I, >me< like it or not. it might just come off but i dont know yet. installed my hood bra and flared my fenders. enjoy
painted some trims and didnt get around the whole car because it sprinkled a bit.
also the license plate garnish. while i was at it i said heck with it. lefts polish the taillights cause maccos has horrible masking jobs.
next off. i decided to put my brothers wheels on my wagon to get a glimpse of an idea of what im working with.
so i canceled my order with the xxr 521 machined face because it was on back order for another long while. i needed wheels for the upcoming shows so i said, alright. im ordering the black set because i was planning to get them anyways.
next step. i took off my limited edition Wagon lip and put the 1st gen back on. im a neat person. i love the wagon "moogen" lip but theres just too many zip ties on it haha.
heres the best part. my moms car broke down far from home. so i drove out to go fix it. it cranked but didnt start. so i checked ignition. took the spark plugs out and it was drenched in oil. cleaned it up and have her make it home. next day she left her car at home cause it didnt start that morning. so i went to buy oil/filter, valve cover gasket set, spark plugs and wires. did all that and car still did the same thing. so i took my distributor out of my wagon and put it in her car and it started up perfect.
this concluded. since im out of a dizzy, i will be swapping my b20vtec into the wagon. i also found that i have a sadan compressor for my AC so i ordered the innovative bracket for AC to b-series into EF. b20vtec w/ b16 tranny, AC and obd1.
this is the 2.5 exhaust out of my 4 dr and 3' outlet. since i wont be needed that anymore cause im going 3' for the turbo, this is going onto the wagon.
