Dana I agree, keep the hood to yourself for now, it's very unique and people are already blowing it up on social media. Everything looks great man keep it up!

Continued Awesome work. Glad to see ur wagon included in all the red carpet and event coverage on IG. This is stuff you see in the movies (or at least they tell you what all needs to happen, then a quick A -team style montage, with a fast fwd to them rolling out to a show with everything all completed) Keep at it.

IG and FB, just people arguing on how you made the hood fit.

thanks prennro! im just very happy to have it up and running again you know. i didnt want it to sit too long where id loose interest in it like i did my sedan. single cam isnt my cup of tea but its doing its job and im actually digging it. i got pulled over by a cop about 30mins into my drive. he had already passed me up and then slammed his brakes to get behind me and pull me over. walks up to my right door and has this confused face on. ask me

COP- do you know why i pulled you over?
ME- no sir i dont know..
COP- i really thought the driver of this car was texting. i didnt realize you're driving on the right side..*laughs
    ME- haha..sorry about that sir.
Second COP *Walks up- Woah..you got me there haha.
Cop- i think imma let him go (to second cop)
Second COP- Yall have a good day
    ME- you too sir! haha.

as i already left, they caught up to me and gave me a peace sign..

ive never been more confident when a cop pulled me over. im tag, registered, insured, stock motor under the hood. it was actually a good feel Lol.

bigdzysays - i wish i could read them haha. i no longer have a facebook. screen shot me the op or something haha. tag me on IG if you can. i havent found anything!!

yesterday i swapped my suspension on my crx to the wagon. the FFTYpE1 was on the crx and since i will be using the wagon for more daily than the turbo crx i want a bit more comfort instead of super stiff. the stiffer setup would go into the crx for drag racing and the fact that i can adjust it much higher than the type1.

Looking good man! I don't know if I missed it or what, but what was the reason for the motor swap?
And I know the feeling on that dizzy issue, my H2B hatch had similar. Fuel pressure and spark and compression, swapped the coil and she fired right up!
  • thanks brother! it was something to just put in for now until i acquire the rest of the money needed to buy my real transplant :)

the ZC was only 300$ and it came with literally everything to put in so why not get it up and running again for the mean time. i didnt want to sit too long where i'd start loosing interest in it.

i didnt know what was the cause of the starting situation but im happy it turned over.

this here is a welded fuel rail. the story is. i was doing a fuel tuck for a customers car and using the -6x12x1.25 i threaded it into the rail. i was leaking after all said and done. so as i removing the fitting it snapped inside the rail. so i took my fuel rail off my wagon with the fitting on it, not leaking, and installed it in the customers car. lol. the day after i was just about to order another fitting and then go to the junkyard to get another rail. to my realization, its aluminum and my buddy could tig it..haha. so i had drilled out the rail, grind it down and shaved the coat of blue off the fitting. had my friend weld it and im back in business..

great work on the bonnet! I need to do that one day.

I Also checked out some of your vids on youtube, great stuff!
  • thank you! i am still planning out what kind and what type of videos i want to start submitting to my channel. still in the works but i promise i will revive my channel soon!

yesterday i was able to start shooting some paint and clean on the underside of my hood. its been really hot and yesterday it kinda cool down a little, just enough to pay some paint. today or tomorrow i will hopefully try to prep and paint the top side.

not the greatest in paint prep but working outside with the dirt flying constantly doesnt help either.

  • yesterday i was able to paint the topside of my hood. it went well up until the 3rd layer of clear coat.

laid down 3 base coat. let dry before i started the clear. i laid down 1 coat followed by the second about 10 mins after. it looks good with the tad bit of orange peel but that can always be sanded down. i had left over in the can and i wanted to do the 3rd layer. its been about 20 mins already and i decided to do a 3rd coat. i messed up, the clear already started to dry inside the gun so as soon as i started spray it spit out the dried clear onto the hood. now the hood is rough and is tiger striped. FML. i am going to let dry a few days before i sand it down and reclear it.

the paint is also a tad bit lighter than the rest of the car, kinda looks like i just added clear over the previous primer haha. oh well.

  • DUDE! Put those wheels on the truck onto the wagon! They look AMAZING!
  • scored some innovative mounts brand new for $50 locally. nice addition to the engine and it felt alot better than the stock ones that were in the car.

need to replace these ugly washers.
    224.jpg

also found a radiator snorkel for the airbox in the yard to add to the "stock" engine bay theme. looking forward to cleaning up the engine bay a lot more before Raceworz in Aug. do some touch up paint, VC maybe some downstar accessories.

    225.jpg
  • Nice find at that price. And looks like you had a good helper with the paint.
  • sanded down the hood the other day. i half ass'd it haha did a 1500 grit and didnt bother with 2k. but my cousin was able to buff it out for me today. its definitely alot better than before. still need to hit it again since he had to go to a school meeting for his daughter.

  • past Saturday was Raceworz. i went out there with both my crx and wagon. i didnt get any pix or anything of the carshow section because i was racing my crx.

this is one photo i found online by JNNVision and the second one was from someone on my way home from the event.

  • so both my wheel bearings went bad and i just so happen to have 2 EX knuckles in the backyard that has better bearings. i ended up swapping the DX for the EX and installed new lower ball joint while i was at it. now with the EX knuckles it pushed the caliper further out since it originally came with the 10.3 rotor. im running the legend calipers so now it has this 1inch gap between the pads and the rotor hat. causing like a 75% clamping pressure. not utilizing all of the pad.

i have 2 choices to go with here. i can either save up money for the some mini cooper 11.1 rotor or buy new bearings for the DX knuckle. (since it had 100% contact with the rotor to pad and is already milled for that knuckle) but for now, this will work and still stops perfectly fine.

the real problem here is the camber. after installing the EX knuckles, the left side is cambered pretty far in while the right side is still on that camber kit 0 degree adjustment. i am unsure if the knuckle is bent or the camber kit came loose. but i removed the camber kit and it seems to make sense that the left side has that natural camber but the right side is still in its what looks to be as if it had 0 degree camber, on the stock camber arm. the steering wheel is now crooked to the left and pulls really hard to the right (positive camber)

today i re-installed the camber kits and adjusted the left side to match the right side for the time being until i can get back to the alignment shop Saturday. steering wheel is now somewhat straight again and the car drives straight again. but it still doesnt make sense to why the camber is all jacked up from the beginning.

i drove it on Saturday to a Breast cancer Awareness show and man i was fighting the steering wheel haha.

Awesome build! Just finished going through all 21 pages! Makes me miss my Rhd Ef hatch. Very impressed with all the work you have done. I recently picked up a wagon hoping to fill that EF void since selling my hatch. Cheers!!

    What size is the turbocharger?
  • @efm thank you! you cant go wrong with a wagon, just hatch with extra doors haha!

    @tadas its a 57trim. Garrett turbo

    http://www.atpturbo.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=GRT-TBO-038

its funny because back in 2010 i bought that turbo brand new as a spare. ended up selling it to my cousin who ran it for some time. then sold the kit to a friend of mine in 2012. hes had it on and off and recently sold it to me...for $100..for everything in the pix :X #winning
  • heres what ive done since the last update.

ive swapped out my regas for my ITR reps. i will be selling the wheels soon. i also swapped out my gray skirts and front lip for the stock black skirts and stock EF9 lip. i am honestly digging this look.

    296.jpg

i also tested fitted the intercooler and holy crap, it has mounting points which i perfectly mounted them to the bumper support bracket that has them 12mm. on top of that, it fitted perfectly in my bumper cut out! the intercooler is dual back door. the left side is an oval shape though. what i did was i cut that end off and it left a square hole. i then took a piece of pipe, put it on the table vise and proceeded to clamp it from each side to form the circle of the pipe to a square. it them lined up perfectly. prepped it and had my friend weld it on for me. now both sides of the end tank are circular.

    305.jpg
  • Interesting solution for piping, where will You put blow off valve? I like it better with these wheels, only tires are too high. And this lip is much better. Maybe a splitter would look nice, that's what I plan to upgrade for my wagon.
  • if i did the turbo setup, the bov would probably be inside the box. the piping would route that way, and the rubber part of the intake would just be a "sleeve" over the piping to make it look stock. the look grew on me very quickly. im looking to upgrade my tires to 205/50 all around since they are 205 up front and 195 in the rear.

but the this thread just took a surprising turn..

    108.jpg
  • so its already out the bag if anyone has seen my youtube channel. i purchase a car that had a k20a2 engine in it.

the craigslist post surfaced on facebook and my buddy saw it. linked me through text to kinda "show" me since ive always wanted a K..after 2 weeks contemplating on it, i contacted the ad. Brent and i spoke about it and that i was really interested in the car even though i was 680 miles away haha. he gave me enough time to gather all my money for the purchase, luckily all the people he had dealt with weren't serious. as soon as i was ready to purchase, we spoke that i would have no sent money until i figured out a transport to get it here in california. a few days go by and i couldnt find any auto transport that was in my range. one called me back saying he couldnt load it onto his carrier because no winch.

    the photos in the AD

    130.jpg
    131.jpg

So Brent took it upon himself and a buddy to deliver the car! How amazing is that! he sound very genuine so settled it. he wanted to make sure this was going to happen so i paypal'd him $600 for the trip (if anything it would have been disputed) the next morning he went and got a dolly, the paperwork, everything related to wagon and honda was put inside the wagon and headed on a 12hour drive to deliver me the car.

    here he loaded it up.

    132.jpg
    133.jpg

He and a friend arrived at my house 12:30am Weds morning (nov 4th) excited as i was, everything came as stated in the craigslist post + more! i paid the asking amount + $600 deliver and $100 extra for the stunned fact he actually brought it to me!

this photo was after they left

    134.jpg

the next morning, i took a better look at everything.

    135.jpg
    136.jpg
    137.jpg

a week after i started to mess with the shifter setup. at first i notice it had the wagon cables and shifter on it. so i attempted to try and make it work. the way it was connected when it came, it was (driver seat) shifting R, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 haha. backwards. so i flipped cables around and it was too short/long for each cable. i had these adapter to see if i could try to get the shifter to shift in the correct order.

    138.jpg
    139.jpg
    140.jpg
    141.jpg
    142.jpg

though that was failed to max, it shifted 1-6/r but completely sideways (shifting towards my thigh haha.) so i completely ditched the cables and box and installed the RSX box..that didnt work either because the cables are wagons .. so it wouldnt fit into the rsx box because of its offset.

    143.jpg

ended up buying a hybrid racing no cut shifter box and rsx type s cables haha save me all the trouble.

    144.jpg

i started to pull the engine out so i could prep it for the wagon (rhd)

Awesome! I love finding cars with basically everything you need to complete the swap already on them. That's how my friend happened upon his B16 swap for his wagon. Just a matter of swapping everything directly over. I bet you got that wagon for a steal too! Especially compared to buying all of the parts separately. I'd K my wagon, but I'd do everything in my power to avoid cutting a hole(s) in my hood. Good luck and have fun with the swap, I look forward to seeing the complete process. :encouragement:
  • yeah, it was one of the reason why i purchased the car and not even a lick of lowball because i know its worth if i built it myself. i have the SiR front end with the center hump so i should get away with maybe cutting just the web and close the hood without any type of spacers. will definitely do series on my youtube channel!
