Prennro: thanks man. but the cars fwd not a 4wd model. thanks for the offer though! plus i still have the extra from the ones i bought from you like 2 months ago for my RT.
Billboard: thanks. a lot of people had told me to go with a different color. but honestly a lot of people done know why i went with it. my old sedan was like that color. and most know, i loved that car very much. i knew the rustoluem wasnt going to get me where i wanted to do and it would have been too much work just to get it legitimately painted. after having to force myself to sell that car, i wanted to incorporate it into my wagon to continue fourth to where the sedan never made it to. plus i havent really seen a wagon in the color theme im going with and i clearly wanted to set myself apart from all the other wagons out there.
finally got my computer back up and running. i had done quite a lot of updates. if you following on instagram, you'd know. for those that dont and the fact that i like to keep my build thread updated with my car, heres what the car has gone through. i am typing everything out here and just going to cluster this page with a lot of photos.
i got myself some sand papers, 1500 and 2000. i wish i had gotten 2500 or 3k, but the paint shop had ran out. most of the sanding was done with hand and a soft block but some areas with a DA. only cause the compressor was up to par with the job. so we finished with 2k and off to get buffed it goes. my buddy Harv did the job but needed more time to finish it 100%. this was just done in a presentable state for the show since im rushing crap the last minute.
with that being said, the car is practically done with the majority of it. i threw the shoes on, fixed the engine problem and drove it the show. Blox Evolution. it was great. definitely had a lot of fun and a lot of love from everyone!
ill let the pictures do the justice (iphone5)
orange peel
2k wet sand. the roof was the most horrid.
^buddy did the buff, i did the polish at home. ^
this was after a long day of prepping the car. haha.
then i did a temporary push start according to the write up. but didnt get an s2k push start before the show, so this was temp.
then the show. first time being out in this whole new setup & my buddies RHD Beagle Clone.
I finally got to see your wagon at the Ef vs da meet, it's fckn clean just well done, an inspiration, I drive the grey stock wagovan, my brother was the one selling parts and hes got the red rt4wd, good to see you out there, keep up the good work, hope to see at the next Ef vs da meet
.5 ef : thank you sir. nice to meet you and your brother. most of all thanks for coming down to the meet guys. again, tell your brother thanks for the lip and that its been repaired and repainted. looks awesome!
went out in the early AM to shoot a video and my buddy that did the shoot called his buddy to come down as well to photoshoot my car and this is the first picture ive been shown and im honestly very excited!
in addition to this thread. ive been working on my brake setup. originally bought EX front knuckles. i planned to run the 10.3 rotor and the calipers but instead bought the legend calipers. those fitted over the 10.3 but doesnt utilize the full pad clamping to the rotor. needs the 11.1 rotors. i didnt want to do that because i want to use my 13x8 slicks. since my RT has the same setup with legends on 10.3 rotors, it clears my 13' wheel.
my setup
using DX base knuckles
-Legend calipers (57mm piston) 23T (23mm rotor)
-10.3 rotor old ex (new stoptech coming in, slotted rotors)
-russell stainless lines.
info. all stamped 17CL15VN.
1) Legend GS & NSX have 28mm thick rotors so their bracket say 28T.
2) ITR/LEGEND, CRV, Vigor, 96 Prelude(H22), 97-01 Prelude have 23mm thick rotors so their bracket says 23T.
3) 02-06 CL, 96-01 Accord V6, 90-97 Accord wagon, Vigor(some came 25T & 23T) have 25mm thick rotors so their brackets say 25T
now to run these calipers on a 10.3 rotor, you have to use the DX knuckles. there are some milling you need to do. not hard, just need to be handy with tools or a machine.
first off, make sure you use the 17mm bolt from the civic and not the legend. see pix.
they hit the rotors.
civic doesnt.
also found brand new brake pads for the accord in my garage. BNIB OEM. lmao. fits perfectly in the calipers.
when you put the legend caliper on the DX knuckles, you'll notice it doesnt sit all the way to be bolted down.
i didnt bother taking calculations on how much to mill off, i just tried it on each time till the bolt bolted up.
here, because the brake pads are significantly larger than the intended caliper, it rubs on the rotor hat. that needs to be milled down. i just did it to the point it stopped making noise.
i also had to mill the inside of the caliper because it rested on the rotor edge after completely bolted down. just a tad bit here and the rotor had no more binding.
you have to mill the outside by 3.2mm in order to clear the rotor from binding on the bracket. recommended only with a milling machine because it has to be precise to insure the caliper sits straight on the knuckles. second option would be milling/grinding 2.3mm on the inside of the bracket that faces the rotor. go at it until it clears the rotor. i did inside.
in the end, you'll end up with Legend calipers 23t on DX knuckles with 10.3 rotors.
thanks. it took me awhile to understand. (problem with comprehending shit) so i went and got an EX knuckle and had my knuckles from my rhd clip to test on. finding the DX knuckle is what i wanted use to keep the rotor on a 10.3 base with the 57mm piston/bigger pad/23mm rotor.
im sure you've seen these photos. for those who havent. i took the car out for a local meet (somethign i dont usually do in my town, fuck thieves) but i felt the urge to drive it.
i started this front end like 2 weeks ago and its coming out alot better than my first attempt ways back with just pure foam. this was using the old school toyota supra fender flares and the stock front. i had no clue how i was going to do this but i think i am on the right path. home depot "great stuff" expanding foam.
"
quoted from my instagram.
"First 3 piece removable front end wagon? I think so. I hope I get this ready In time for track. Touching up in the shape, fiberglass, fill, sand, paint, buff. The reason I built this front end is because i am doing alignment for my car at its current height. The way it sits. I rather have this front end to clear my fender and bumper staying at its current height than to raise it at the track and mess with my settings. Not going to spend $1000 on the Ef 3pc front end and modify to fit. Under $100 + my time = custom front. And I get to run big tires on the street lmao"
(pix are from my brown wagon but its being built for my rhd which i dont want to ruin any part of the car with. )
made these brackets to hold the flares into place which are also screwed in from underneath. the front ones are whats going to have the bumper and fender mounted together like how the EG ares.
started shaping
custom foam cutter haha!
started the bumper. instead of having that curve where the fogs would sit, i foamed to shape it flat down like the actual 3 pc front bumper or the wings west kit. a lot of cutting, filling cutting til everything looked about right. added on the bumper part of the flare i cut off and molded that into shape.
heres what i did today. its just about done before heavy fiberglass. just filled in some holes and some areas i cut to much. i cannot wait and its quite fun doing this as i am a person who likes creativity.
also got the last bits and pieces to my suspension. after all my brakes and suspension parts going on, its time for corner balance than alignment. race in october and hope my car goes straight down the track and has a bit more stopping power than it did last time.
and to wrap this thread up until next update just in case anyone cares to view, Enjoy!
did some fiberglass a few days ago. sanded it down smooth and bondo it. i think at this point im just going to use the cheap bondo to shape it and possibly thinking of making a mold to produce a full fiberglass set.
started on my suspension install. everything was going well until i got to the rear. did my camber kit did my trailing arm bushing and installed my line. to find out the kit they gave me was for rear disc setup with the banjo to female instead of female to female. so now i have to reuse my stock rubber line bleed and get the car back on the ground to move until i get new rears.
front consist of
dx knuckle
legend caliper
oem pads
stoptech slotted rotors
russell brake line
skunk 2 camber kit
new LCA bushing
new top hat bushing
new f.sway bar bushing and link bushings
rear has
new trailing arm bushing
skunk 2 camber kit
already replaced LCA with synergy.

Glass? How about carbon fiber? That would be rad! I think many of us here would be interested in either.
All that custom work on the bumper and fenders is awesome, it's not what I would do with my own cars but I appreciate all the work and effort that's going into it.
You just dont see to many people customize like that anymore.
Cant wait to see the finished look.
Car should have huge improve on handling stopping power now, thats a big ass caliper lol.

hand polish everything!
sprayed the rear bumper and installed the lamps. then on car.
got a sponsor and acquired some new parts.
bumper on and 1/4 glass is on.

found some pix on Stickydiljoe's website. its an honor to be on there! this was the same event last week as posted above.
and this was yesterday at the ef vs da meet. i was 1 of the 4 cars left in the location while everyone was already gone. lol
