so i had played a huge prank on april first where i had put my car up for sale and sold the car for $5200. picture showed i had the wad of cash in my hand and the pinkslip ready to go. i took it really far by playing it out to may and the no updates on the car was killing me so i showed the car again on May 2nd. when my plan was to show it when it was done. so since the last update, it hasnt really gone far but its ready for paint now. so im looking to shoot some times in the next week or so. ill let the picture do the talking.
so first off my desmond regamasters. got the stickers. spent 2 hours on the first wheel to get the placement right on them. i think they look great!
back to bodywork. i know some of my work was really done on a fully sanded down surface, i had no idea i was doing that until it was pointed out.
sanded the jambs
wtf is going on here?! oh, 1/4 panel replacement.
razor blade window removement
it rained the next morning.
trunk
i did mentioned i picked up the beagle seats. being 88-89 it didnt match the frame.
lastly, i have the beagle rear seats as well but i do not have the lower half. ive been trying to go around to find a place that would find a close match to trying to reholster myseats..this one came the closest match. thinking about just doing the whole rear usdm seats so i'd still have my top beagle seats.
then bought my new clear and ditching the old gallon.
then the fucking junkyard wanted to rape my wallet of 200$, at this point in time, i just had to have the parts. 88 belt conversion, fender, jamb trims, passport rear speakers and other misc.
after cutting and buffing the tailights, i wanted to retrim the black.
then the dash came off because it was blocking part of the jamb of where it will be painted. also gave me to the room to change some things under there and eliminate some plugs i didnt need.
after all that was said and done, i took the engine out. took me a bit longer with just ratchets, taking one too many breaks and again working alone to just the radio. plus i was just organizing things as i went.
started removing useless brackets and such.
some holes welded and bondo for the night. was also going to lay the sealer but wanted to wait to do it tomorrow.
thanks guys. today i near summed up the engine bay. i hate it. haha. but i still have to scuff some small areas my big fingers cannot get to. also sanded my left door jamb and seam sealed my previous work. this time i used a brush to make them nice and uniform.
did some more sanding yesterday. weather is picking up to 100 degrees and the heated wind isnt helping. but my cousin came by and helped me with the jambs while i while i hitting up the truck and jambs plus the hood. its closing in for paint time.
started blocking the guide coat and found some lows so i repaired those.
and the engine is getting a different theme going on.
So much Awesomeness going on in here. I can truly appreciate all of the wagon work you've done. Keep at it you're almost there. Paint is going to look awesome!
thanks for viewing Prennro. i didnt get to work on the car today because i had went to go help my buddy install his engine because was one and one with no cherry picker. but tomorrow, i will be sanding the doors and polishing out some parts. i still need to find someone with a truck and trailer
wanted to attempt to do some polishing. theres still a lot more to do on the t bracket. if i dont like it (scared of rusting) i will be powder coating it purple i think. the victor x manifold is not fun.
the car was suppose to go to paint on thursday but the dude couldnt take my car then. was postpone to wed and i hope it goes through. currently sits like this.
the car is going out tomorrow for paint. unfortunately, this time around, i am not the one painting this car. though i had prepared myself a long time now, i still dont think im ready to do this task. friends had told me that ive put so much time and effort into it that i should shoot it at my house due to dead dirt lawn + wind. make no room for mistakes. but im getting really excited right now!
i did some more sanding on my manifold. if it doesnt come out how i expect it, im going to get it chrome dipped.
i was so indecisive on my sidemarkers. i didnt want it, but the fact that my lights were already there in the wheel well, i figured i would put it to use. plus it wasnt too bad as my sedan that was bsg also had sidemarkers.
also tried plastidip. kinda like it. this was tested on a spare molding. my brother wanted to do his g35 grill so i bought it.
so the long wait has finally come! today i dropped off the car to my buddies shop! he and his other worker are going to finish what ever else needs to be worked on and he will be trying to lay some paint down this weekend! Omni base with shopline clear. very excited!
ef9 and ef5 bumper!
this is nearly 50miles away LOL
also stopped by BRFittings on the way home to get some nickle fittings to go with my chrome theme engine.
heres my fuel setup (GE/1200cc) with my work in progress victor x manifold. i just have to step sand it to the finest and polish it out!
Grifty : Thanks, i was inspired by some EK hatches that were the same color on white regamaster. The color was also to represent my old car because i miss it dearly. doing what i couldnt have done on my previous car. so she lives within.
snowbrd, i guess i spend too much time online always looking for replies to see what people think of my build haha. but thanks !
djkemistry , mistahjoe, Thanks guys!
i update anyways because i want to keep track of the progress like i always do with my builds as well as on youtube. here are more picture of the car out in the sun a bit today.
moldings will be black.
this is how the engine currently sits. picked up an APC billet spark plug cover. the missing piece to my VC!! intake manifold is still in the polishing stages.
nickel plated -10 fittings for the VC and the catch can!
I also love to read coments and know what people think about my job, that's why i update my topic
I was thinking to paint my valve cover, but polished looks cool! Could tell me the procedure how you did this? I have polished rims, I think it will be the same! And what about that sparkplug cover, it's usualy plastic..
That's tial bov? You have some vid with sound of it on honda?
Vlad, if you seen Jorge Ramos car, kinda gives you the idea. i was kinda skeptic at first, but i think it would flow nicely because my wheels are white.
Thanks Queef and Mark!
today was a bunch of paint chipping type of day. but this is a step forward.
