Was lil disappointed that u didn't get your super low wagon next to ours even with your 5 colors. We had two tents up you would have stayed dry. Once you parked we didn't see you.
One of these days I'll go buy the paint and fix most of my wagon enough to paint it. I need to put it up on blocks or something in my garage and do one side at a time.
Then I won't have any problems registering for shows since I'd actually have a decent paint job!
After it started raining me and my little brother just left, the weather really just killed it for me.
Anyway! Since I haven't logged in for probably 4 months, mini update!
Nothing major, just picked up some white fenders so my front clip is only 2 colors
had to replace my wheel bearings, which was MORE than a pain in the a$$
replaced a brake caliper,
did some other minor fixes/mods, different shift knob, fixed my windshield wipers from slapping the a pillar at speed, got an alignment. Got a few small goodies on the way.
Oh and thanks XSR its definitely a work in progress but I wouldn't have it any other way.
And thanks Knotty for the props on your wagon of the month post!
Well deserved WOTM.
You guys should follow me on instagram, I post a bunch of pictures mostly of my wagon. @robert_muir
And since its been another two months, update! Painted the roof and pillars (if you remember right those were pretty faded and terrible)
Picked up some 31mm spacers and camber kits and swapped in an oem radiator a friend had laying around.
Idk about it anymore but I was gonna redrill new holes in the rear coilovers. Where the coilover meets the rear lower control arm. Redrill the hole higher to go lower. This is what TheGman did.
Still rolling on those same coils to this day, It was either cut the spring or redrill the lower mount on my coilovers. I chose the latter obviously.
I would definitely take some time and measure and precisely drill the holes. Justin and I just kinda went for it and the holes arent perfect and it makes it hard to attach the suspension again.
For those of you following me on instagram, you probably saw that the wagon is getting some major work!
Engine is pulled and front clip is apart, once i get paid (tomorrow) Its time to buy a bunch of wiring stuff and do a full wire tuck on the engine and engine bay.
Then the seam sealer is coming off and the bay will be shaved and misc holes filled all that good stuff and painted. Not sure what color. Just not purple.
Then! The engine is coming apart and a z6 head going on it to make it a full z6 but with a6 pistons/crank/rods.
along with some other goodies, y8 manifold, zerg intake manifold thermal gasket, skunk2 intake manifold thermal gasket 70mm TB. ARP head studs.
And lots of detailing and painting and cleaning!
Fun stuff! instagram will have pics of the progress and one day i'll upload them here.
Follow me! Its probably worth it! robert_muir
