apologies if it's already been seen, but.. looking for a photo of the 4wd tranny to identify where the reverse switch is supposed to live - mine is missing - I happened on this:

by the way, anyone have a reverse switch from a 4wd they want to sell me?

Good find!
Your switch may still be there. It's located on the same cover as the shift levers. It's on the opposite side of the shift levers near near where the cover attaches to the rest of the transmission. The wires may have been cut and taped up.I've got a switch if needed.$10 shipped to the lower 48.Use PayPal.Don't know what country you're from?
I love that thing! I kinda like having the wagon covered rear end, but it does look pretty awesome. I do wonder about the long-term wear & tear from those huge offset tires, though.
I also have a subaru justy, and I've seen a few folks do stuff like this to them - they don't hold up at all!! pretty reliable with 155r12 tires on them but you put 28" swampers on them and the trannies blow up pretty quick.
VW did a golf like out RT's but made it look insane like that thing on the URL, but only in europe I guess.
Back to the drawing board...
just keep it 4 door wagon with big fender flair, roof basket with spare tire jerrycans,KC foglights, rear spare tire, CB radio and antenna, huge mud tires on RT4wd rims. what you think?
