There is literally NO CLEARANCE on the inside. I've got photos at home I can post up. I'm gonna have to do some massaging on the inside fenderwell before I do any serious off road work.
I think it's pretty much a perfect size for right now. Hopefully next week I can get my brakes ordered (pads/rotors/steel lines) and then start learning metal fab lol. Gotta igurenout pipe bending with my new toy and then go to town.
So I'm headed to work today, listening to the normal slight whine from the transaxle/drive line. Nothing unusual. Then all of a sudden it gets louder, and louder, and louder, now it's to the point of a scream. I pull off, crawl under and poke around, everything looks normal. Start going again, screams.
Made it to work. Hoping I make it to my second job and then home. Like 30miles round trip :-/. Then it's into the garage and on four jack stands to do some investigating. Anybody chime in if you have any ideas!
Yeah. That wash buddies first guess as well. Thankfully I have a parts car so I can just snag that one and swap it out.
I'm hoping it's anything but the transaxle lol. I am a total noob when it comes to rear diffs, or diffs in general. Can the wagons be rebuilt? Figure I'll learn as much as I can until my friend aka my mechanic comes over and goes to town.
I changed it a few months ago, and I check it regularly. Along with the transaxle fluid. I take care of my cars!!! Even though Jane apparently still hates me lol
And the precious owner was charb. So point the figer at him!
@ bam - sir yes sir. Thanks for the pointers guys. I won't get to it until like 9pm pacific time. So we will see what's up.
Can anyone find a part number? We sell a bunch of different U joints here at my company. Maybe we have some sort of replacement assuming it's not something completely one off.
Thanks scrappy. I found, and bumped that thread. I'll let you knownif I find anything out. Who the eff makes a u-joint that is "not serviceable" fuck you Honda!
Progress is better than Nothing! Also only got two painted before I had to get other crap done lol.
How did it turn out..????
Man i hit a piece of metal last night on the way home and sliced the inside of the passenger front tire.... so i played musical tires (donut on rear, rear to front.... Damn big brakes ... gotta love them....)
then limped Scrappy to the Garage where i keep Odie and on the way i went .... ( Scrappy was whimpering as i left him tho.)
now time to c about a lil tire action ...
Lol @ charb. Tell my u joints to get here faster. Once the driveline gets put back in you'll get your wish. Assuming nothing else breaks.....cross your fingers.....side note, took the bull bar off.
Who wants to buy it after I get it refinished? Mmmmmm powdercoating
Desktop this charb.

How'd it work with a lifted wagon and a doughnut haha. I'm worried about blowing a tire and having to throw mine on...I think once I make my rack I'm gonna carry two spare full size wheels and tires on the rack just in case:
I'd suggest 205/65/15's if you're running 15inch wheels. If you go bigger there will be some slight massaging needed to make them fit. I plan to go with like a 215/75/14(or something close) on the stock RT wheels. See how that goes.
Lol I'd kill to get snow like that down here! I plan on going up to hood (Mt. Hood, local mountain for snowboard/skiing) once it gets dumped on and playing. I've got two sets of real OG chains. Legit actual chain none of that new fancy woman chains or cable garbage. That will be Jane's true test,
Jane will do well...
i took a coworker home the last snow we got here .... had snow rolling up the hood n a few places...
passing everything imaginable ..
 Scrappy stock height @ that time also..
but the tires i selected for the time was only $73 each mounted and balanced .... ive gotten my money out of them.. to say the least ... got me anyplace i wanted to go....
Jane hasn't moved out of the driveway in over a month now....I've been so busy with my fiances car that i havn't had ANY time to do anything on her. I havn't even had time to fix the driveline...i've had the u joints for like a month now.
Hoping to get back into the Jane work next week. Just a few odds and ends left on the Si before its pretty well done.
Got an 88 RT and have a bad ujoint myself, found rockford thread on here, whoo hoo, then found this sweet build!! I have been wanting an offroader tat gets better mileage than my jeep but now I have direction!! Thanks for this build and great details bro! also have an 87rt4 hven't decided what to do wit that one yet...
