I picked up some Stock DA (91 acura integra) suspension off a 4door from my local junk yard. Took the rear lower control arms as they need to be swapped out when doing the lift.
First i started by taking apart the rear end. Removed the shock/spring and compared the two. DA is nice and black, wagon is filthy and dirty.
there is a significant difference in the rears.
Step 2 is where it gets interesting. We couldn't even get the bottom of the strut over the control arm, even when taking everything loose. took the upper camber/control arm off, took the trailing arm loose from the frame...still not enough travel. so we did what any garage mechanic does. Cut grind weld repeat lol. I ended up cutting a groove in the LCA to be able to get the strut bolted to it.
Once we got that bolted up it was time to get the upper camber/control arm bolted...well that was another issue...we needed a good inch of length to be able to bolt it up...
thankfully i had some spare parts from an EG and i happened to have some adjustable ones.
installed that so i had massive camber adjustment.
Then it was on to trying to get the rear trailing arm bolted back up to the frame...well there ended up being about an inch to an inch and a half gap...and if we forced them up it would put the suspension in a bind. So again we improvised. Went to the local autoparts store and picked up some random poly bushings. Then ran over to lowes and picked up some longer bolts, same grade as the bolts that were in there. Got them installed and they worked perfectly.
The rear is completely done. Wheel on and on the ground. no pictures of that yet, Im going to do the other side tomorrow and get everything buttoned up and then you'll get full car pictures with measurements and everything. The front bolts directly up with no customization at all. it does not lift as much as the rear does, but it is still significant. I am going to look into how to get the front up to match the rear.
Well it is all put together. It took me two hours to find the correct size tap to fix the last bolt hole threads. I needed a 12x1.25 tap....everybody and their mother has a 12.1.50...thanks honda.
Anyways, After all that i got it all put together just as it was getting dark. I snapped two pictures really quick, and i'll take more tomorrow. I'll also try to elaborate on the install with more specifics later. Here are the lifted wagon pix.
I'll get better pictures tomorrow. From my measurements it is 2-2.5" lift in the rear. and .5-.75" in the front. I have an idea on how i can gain that extra half inch or so in the front. Will play with it another day. I am going to get some extended brake lines, just to be safe, the lines are a little tight for my taste. The only other issue i have right now is i believe the right rear axel is toast. It fell out of the diff a few times while we were dicking around with that one bolt. pretty sure it just plain got fucked up. I'll put the search on for a new one and get that replaced asap.
this is the truth, they are the safest. I wondering if you could find lines from another car that would be the right length and fit so there wouldnt be a need for custom lines.
Yeah. First step is fix axle problem. I have a spare RT at the fiances parents house I can snag an an axle from...but I'd rather see if anything else works first.
Well after a whole lot of talk about how to get the front end up. I decided to go pick up some 92 accord front suspension.
it is taller, by a good inch or so.
Also the accord has three studs on the top, where the DA/Wagon have two. Easy fix is just to swap the top hats, which i did.
And then the problems set in....I can get it bolted up, but the Accord suspension is wider than the DA suspension so it hits the fender well and the outer arm.
i've thought about an adjustable upper control arm that way i can push the outer arm away and get more space, also thought about a BFH (BIG FUCKING HAMMER) and beating in the fender well a half inch or so....but i haven't taken it to that level yet. I got my buddy coming over tomorrow to see what we can figure out. Also thought about possibly putting the DA spring on the longer Accord strut, that way it doesn't hit in those two spots. So we will figure it out tomorrow.
by the looks of it the DA spring is the same size as the wagon spring, so i think you might only get maybe an inch lift out of accord strut and DA spring. wat if you use an accord LCA that would probably bring it out an inch or so. maybe a DA lca would help too. it would help with a camber issue if there is one. but im drunk and thats just looking at pictures and guessing. so you know how it is

Noice! so correct me if I'm wrong but parts needed are as follows...
DA integra OEM rear struts and springs
EG Rear camber kit
longer bolts and bushings for rear trailing arm
Front CB accord struts and springs also shock fork

HAH. Awesome. Most definitely.
here i'll start my proof.
anybody else see a problem there?
i like it a lot...needs to get repainted though lol. thats later down the road.

^^Also copied from the lift thread^^
EDIT - i just realized that i have been spelling axle wrong this whole time...epic fail....
Most likely stainless....i'm a fan of safety, and they are the safest, IMO.
only thing left to do is pull the drivers side bushings off that we made and put the sleeve in the middle of them like we did on the passenger side.

basically we ended up having to take apart the whole suspension...pretty much everything came unbolted lol.
First we started by unbolting the sway bar.
then came the bar that bolts to the LCA
Then the upper joint on the upper control arm had to come off.
once that was off we had all the space in the world.....
oh and let me also put in that when you are compressing accord springs, i recommend using three compressors..otherwise it wants to twist/bulge.
And now for the final show...let me present to you....my 2" front 2.5" rear lifted 1988 Honda Civic RT4WD Wagon.
FIRSTIES!!!!!!!
