While my headliner was out, I decided it was a good time to mount up my rear speakers as well as wrap the headliner so it looks a little better. Picked up some aluminum angle iron and got them cut into 8" sections. drilled some holes and go it mounted up to the headliner.
Once i had everything in place and fitted I pulled them back off and sanded down the headliner. Went to my local Harbor Freight and picked up some industrial spray adhesive stuff and went to town on the headliner. It came out really well.
temporary battery mount over there...super ghetto haha.
I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I'm looking into possibly buying a Braille battery to fit down in the side little cubby so I have more space in the trunk. Also going to probably going to make some kind of fake flooring for the rear as well as the rear of the back seats. I don't have rear seats right now to go back in the car, so it will be empty for a while.
Thanks! Its not quite as clean as I want, minor modifications still needed to make it fit flush. I still need to put in my mirror and center dome light.
looks good! doesn't sit as low as I imagined. your wagon's roof is hellaflush now. lol
LOL. It's only like four inches deep. Now that winter is coming, I'm starting to pick apart my wagons interior and I don't like it. Can i borrow that rear carpet piece you bought from me so I can make a template? I totally spaced it before I gave it to you.
What is supporting the weight of the speaker/mount setup? Do you have some sort of drop bracket on the underside of the roof skin or did you use one of the pillar supports that run between? If so, do you have any concern of sagging the bejesus out of it anytime soon?

Whens the next meet?
I am curious to see how long it will hold it up. There is a push clip directly in the middle of the pods that goes into the roof, as well as one just to the front of them. The side interior does a pretty good job holding up the edges as do the grab handles. Then there is the center dome light I need to re-install as well as the rear one. I do not thing the headliner will sag, but only time will tell.
yeah the F-350 is a beast. It's my dads, 6" lift with 37x13.5x17 tires lol.
What's the pod from? that thing is bad-ass!!! I am currently trying to blend in a center console from a 99 protege, gotta have cup holders and an arm rest!!! lol

Awesome job with the pod! I'd been eying those for awhile now that I've got a Cherokee myself, just didn't know how well it would actually fit but it looks like the fit is perfect for the most part! I like that idea more because you still retain your cargo area....hmm. Keep the updates coming!

It fits really well actually. As long as you take your time in cutting a shortening it.
No real updates as of lately. I have moved to a different location for work so i am trying to get things setup there and get work flowing so i can get a bit more spare time. I really really need to get the passengers side bar painted so i dont have to worry about it any longer. Hopefully in the next few weeks i can fix my trailing arm bushing mounting point problem as well.

Love your rear speaker pods....hella flush and subtle. Im running a braille battery in mine and it has worked fine as long as you drive it regularly. Check out my build for
details. Keep up the good work! :encouragement:
Nothing crazy to update. My stereo went out for an unknown reason. I'll have to tear into my harness and see what i screwed up, probably just a bad connection.
Also need to do some work on a few minor water leaks. The fogging windows are a major annoyance here in the cold winter. Also need to plan a temporary patch for my quarter panels as the wheel wheel sare beginning to rust out. Looks like my summer project will be to rebuild them.
Delayed....but Jane has not moved in months. Just chilling in the driveway while i ride the Met this spring/summer. She will get to roll again once the rain comes back.

Its from a early 90's two door jeep cherokee.

Jane is alive too. Time has given me zero leeway to do anything. Life is pretty dull, filled with work and only work.

Next will be the gloss coating. Not sure what color to do the spokes.
Ordered an actual RT axle from Napa. Will be here tomorrow, the DA axle is slightly shorter. Shorter axle plus lifted wagon = issues.
Did however get my wheel glossed and pretty. Now i must paint the spokes.

So... Custom how? Longer? Relieved cups? What''s different?
and who made em?
other cars use similar cv axles. so we might be able to use the center section of a jetta with the outers of the wagon/teg. but i need lengths.
also the center section is friction welded. so if you have access to a big lathe you can make some strong, long wagon axles.
thats why we have that lil bump in the axle. friction welding

also thats what most cv axles look like on inside. mostly universal
