Transmission strength?

when I was looking around to possibly hire out the wiring in my engine swap, I came across VIP performance (I'm in portland) they have an '88 rt4wd with a d16z6 and a big turbo. I'm curious to get some opinions on how well the 4wd tranny will hold up to the 360hp they're getting!!! another shop I had talked with had put down my d16a1 swap saying that 'those trannies are weak anyway and won't hold up long'. I'm new to the 4wd civic so I have no idea what the reputation is or isn't regarding the strength of the drivetrain. any thoughts?

    jaker is the only one truly pushing the limits of the 4wd system since he is running it in full time rwd.

    he had some wheel hop and busted part of it in half. look up his build thread.

    it is rumored that 250whp is the limits but other members are laying down much more. the only way to find out is to find out.
