Why does my engine oil turn to black within week?

In the morning, I checked engine oil and it turned black and thick although it was normal weeks ago. I am not sure if it is because of freezing cold weather. I usually use regular octane gas but I just put 94 octane gas first time at last week. Is it possibly related to the black oil problem? And I noticed oil sitting on coolant as very thin film and gel residue on the wall of reservoir. I am not sure if it is just coolant residue or oil. I am worrying about head gasket but I hope not. Please help..

  • Its black because it is working. If it was thick and black it was overdue for a change. The new oil is absorbing all the soot/carbon build up in the engine and turning black.

I can smell gas on oil dipstick. Is it related to faulty inector or worn valve seal? Is it possible that faulty injector makes oil dark black and thick? Thanks

Its normal for a car to turn its oil black. The piston rings aren't closed all the way. So This causes some fuel escape into the Crank shaft where all the oil is at.

Also It can't only be the gasket if there's oil in it. Oil can come from a crack in the block which goes into the coolant. But if it were to happen, your oil would look like a milk-shake color. A crack in your block would happen if you don't have the right coolant and water mixture for your weather conditions. As in temperature. Water expands when it freezes.
If it was a blown gasket then coolant would happen to go into your cylinder which would cause white smoke to come out of your tail pipe and cause your coolant level to go down.
