Bisimoto coilovers

I want to improve the stance of my 1990 2wd wagon daily driver. A 2"-2.5" drop would be nice, but I think I am going to settle for 1"-1.5" in order to preserve ride quality. So I've been looking at Bisimoto's $580 Series II Street Performance coil over kit with spring rates of 350 lbs/in for the front, and 250 lbs/in for the rear. I thought I had read somewhere that they are the same ones made by Progress. Does anyone have any feedback on these, or any recommendations for my particular application?

  • Yep they are made by Progress and from what Ive read they are a great value - more performance based then looks. I have also read about the Godspeed RS (adjustable dampening) and its gotten some good reviews on this forum with our wagons - good handling but can ride dumped and still maintain ride quality. Progress maybe the best choice (also I have heard replacement shocks are ~$69 too). But if you want to ride slammed with adjustable dampening - Godspeed? I am considering the Godspeed RS on my budget turbo wagon build based on the reviews on this forum. I have no personal experience with these set-ups I just read a lot. Hope this helps though.

Thanks, GorillaR. The Godspeed RS do look like a good value considering their adjustability. I first read about them while following Justin-xxx's build thread. His wagon sits pretty low, but he praises the ride. Decisions, decisions...

JDMwago, how low are you sitting on your Godspeeds?

I'm not on godspeeds. A couple of my friends from Cali have them and they have such a good ride. This is comparing them in different cars too, 89 civic hatch, 91 integra 2dr, 90 integra 4dr and an 90 crx. In every one of these cars the ride doesn't change. The hatch sits high but that's his choice, integra's are very low and the crx is a decent height.
  • I am looking for coilovers as well, and I did see someone praising the godspees somewhere else on here. I am interested in getting some but i wanna know how low they will go. I was looking at a set of function and forms, but the guy on ht said the reason he is selling them is cuz the do not go all that low
  • Glad I ran into this. I'm looking for inexpensive coils as well.
  • I love my godspeeds. "1991KA8" Told me about them. make sure you get the Type RS ones. the cheaper ones are not as adjustable and don't perform near as well.
  • thank you justin i am going to be looking into the rs ones now.
