Just an Idea - IKEA Lighting

My dad has a friend, who is a high-up at IKEA. He tells me that they carry 12 volt, multi-color LED lighting intended for home use (comes w/ a 120V to 12V transformer and a 12V control box). Apparently some auto enthusiasts in several markets have been buying these kits for car interior lighting, tossing out the transformer and keeping the controller (it allows for light patterns, color changes etc.).... sounded like a cool (and cheap :D ) idea to me - thought I'd share.

Your thoughts? Anyone else ever heard of this?

    IKEA product name is "DIODER" and prices range from $49.99CDN (white) to $79.99CDN (multicolor) and each set comes with four clusters / strips of LEDs all nicely mounted.

    Again, just an idea I thought I'd share with HCW :D
