What's up guys - Sarasota, Florida

New to the boards and thought I'd say my hellos.

Looking to start up a project/daily driver. Would really love a Civic Wagon, but I might have to settle for a Civic Hatch or Forester (these Wagons are hard to find 'round these parts)

Realistically, I'm probably about a year away from getting anything, unless *insert Marlon Brando voice over here* I find a offer I can't refuse. So, I thought it would be smart to look around, do a little homework and see what other folks are doing...and from what I've seen so far, very nice things guys :D

Anyway, look forward to seeing some YOUR GUYS' project come together...AND starting my own.

Cheers,
- TallFace (Jason)

    Thanks man.

Yeah, I've been looking on Craigslist. Been making it a point to search various States and Cities too, not just Florida. They seem to be more prominent up North and out West though OR people down here just don't want to get rid of 'em :)

But one day it will be mine...oh yes, it will be mine.

Good lookin' out man, thanks! I'll have to send him a message to see if he's got any more pictures. Would like to see if he has any more interior shots or can tell me about any/how much rust it might have on it.

Welcome to the board, and hopefully soon to the Florida club! We seem to be enjoying explosive growth.

While Wagons do seem to be rare here, at least they're generally rust-free. However, all Wagons seem to have severe interior problems. The driver's side seat is almost always ripped to shreds, hidden under a seat cover. In Florida heat, the dashboard is often cracked, and the rest of the trim plastic doesn't wear well, either.

Just sayin' -- you may not want to hold out for perfection, especially in the interior department.

Thanks judebert. Look forward to being part of the club :D

The Florida Sun/Heat definitely takes it toll on cars down here. My very first car was a '91 Chevy Beretta and that thing was TORE UP by the time I got rid of it  Suffered from all of the symptoms you mentioned above, minus the driver's seat being torn to shreds of course :D So as I'm hoping to find something decent, I fully understand the reality of the situation

What do you guys usually do for parts? I mean, some of the older Wagos must be pretty difficult to find parts for, yeah? (this question should probably be in some other thread somewhere huh?)
