Hey there from hanover virginia

hey everyone. i was googling civic wagon forums and this one came up. looked pretty cool so i signed up in hopes of getting a little help possibly but i will start off by telling you about myself. im an old fart, 46, compared to most that probly are registered here. i have been into hondas for 15 years but before that was a non import man. usa only. after my first honda i never looked back. i even hate working on amercian cars now even though i still own 2. just to give a history of my automobiles i have had in my past in order as i can remember. 1964 mercury meteor, 1962 buick electra 225, 1973 chevy laguna, 1972 chevy vega, 1972 chrysler imperial, 1972 pontiac catilina (built to the hilt), 1986 chevy nova, 1972 ford f100, 1981 honda accord, 1985 civic wagon push button 4 wheel drive, 1987 civic wagon awd, 1994 accord wagon.(first honda i really fixed up - tint, lowered, adjustable struts, cai, header, custom exhaust sweet car for a grocery getter)
in my drive way now are 1981 chevy el camino, 1975 chevy monza 2+2 v8, 1995 odyssey, 1996 honda accord, 1990 crx - b16 swap (my baby), and my newly perchased 1986 carburated civic wagon 5 speed that i got from a little old lady (seriously) who bought it new. it has 114k miles. itside is clean as a pin. outside needs cleaning front bumper is cracked in one place and a tiny rust spot where the H emblem is on the front. paid 800 for it. car runs great but i have had to tinker with the carb to get it to stay running. the car sat for 2 years. the ac even works. i got the car for my son who is in the process of getting his learners permit. i thought i would put my oe crx rims on it just to make it look a little better. i basically had some questions about repairing the bumper because i cant find one and questions about the carburator but i will post those in the proper areas of discussion. i also wanted to check out other peoples rides just to get different ideas.
i dont get to the computer that often (us old folks have to work work work n sleep sleep sleep) but i will try to come here from time to time and share my awesome wisdom (ha right) and maybe learn a thing or two.
thanks for reading about me, the new old fart on the block.

This forum is weighted heavily toward the 4th generation wagons ('88-'91), but it's not intentional. I think that's just what's out there on the road. I almost NEVER see 3rd gens, but there are a few about.5 or 6 are on the board here periodically. Stick around and keep us posted, please.

i was noticing that most of the members have 4th gen but i thought id take a stab. thats what i was really looking for but you dont see to many wagons anymore and this one was such a good deal i jumped on it. i had a chance to buy a 86 4wd a few months ago but the lady wanted 1200 for it and the interiour smelled of cat pee. i always thought a 4wd with some knoby tires jacked up with a built engine would be different but the smell was really bad. i guess nobody would know to much about carbs on this site then huh. im gona post my problem anyway you never know.

I've messed with a sight more carbs than I have FI, but it's hard to argue with success!

carbs do seem simpler. you jet it, you go. injectors are a different story but i grew up with hollys eldebrocks and quadrajets.

Welcome, another 33 year old here, but I got you beat... I've owned Hondas since I was 16. So I'm 17 years in the game! My Ole' CRX has been with me the whole time. Anyways, you have come to the right place. Great info and great people! You also may want to check out another one of my favorite sites, www.redpepperracing.com They cater specifically to your generation wagon & civics. Dont leave here though! Just some more info for you.
