Hello from Alaska

What up everyone I stumbled across this site while looking up stuff about my new to me 1988 Honda Civic 4WD wagon. I owned an 89 CRX for a couple years in the past and I know how reliable Hondas can be. I don't know much about the Honda I have now other than it is four wheel drive which where I live is almost a necessity. Anyone know if there are any turbo kits for this thing? I think it has a 1.6L SOHC engine.

I look forward to learning more here and below are a couple pics of my car.

It might be a badge from a different vehicle, the steering wheel says "Real Time 4WD."

Welcome to the site! I thought the same thing when I was looking at the pics: "full time? I thought it was real time" lol.
  • welcome looks good in black
  • Welcome . Like the wagon in black . Is that the factory color , or a respray ? Either way it looks good .

Nice! I don't think that was a stock color, but it looks bitchin. How has it been working out for you in the snow and whatnot? As good as an early 90s subaru at least? What kind of tires?

There are a bunch of turbo kits out there, but we don't have much info here about them. http://www.honda-tech.com and http://www.d-series.org have a lot of info about that stuff, but we have everything else here minus most of the douche-baggery!

    Welcome!

I do believe it was repainted at one time... the paint isn't exactly a professional job. I really love this car!

I just put on the summer tires on today, I have no idea what type they are but they work for now. Since summer is almost upon us once again I won't get to really test the AWD system until at least October (unless I go off road). I am sure it will do fine though, I had to actually trade my AR-15 rifle for the car because the last car I had broke down a few days ago and I just gave that POS away. It was a 91 Saturn SL2 and I hated that thing. This Honda Civic Wagon is much better. It does have a little rust around the left rear wheel well but for a car like that its almost to be expected so no big deal. Later on I can just bondo it. This is the quietest and best running car I ever owned so I'm pleased with it so far.

    Thanks for the welcomes everyone!
