I think ive pretty much looked everywhere on top of the intake manifold and all around for the pcv valve on a 91 awd.. Still cannot seem to find it ? Anyone have any tips for locating it ? Thanks
Looking at the four runners on the intake manifold, there is a bung in the brace that runs between the four runners. The little right angled thingy attached to the vacuum hose that goes into that bung is the PCV valve.
I had one laying around and was going to take a picture but i've packed it away for the move already.
Well i think i found it.. Does it stick through a hole in that bracket, and have one line running from the intake and another from underneath somewhere? when i was trying to pry what ever goes in that hole out.. assuming that its the pcv,,, i broke the plastic hose that it went into... the whole piece came off in pieces. I dont know if i can even see where the hose went from the top of the egine.. Any idea where that goes too ? And if i can get it back on comming from the side or the bottom ?
I broke my PCV tube while trying to get the old valve out.. Anyone know what steps ill need to take to change that tube? is there a way to come up from the bottom or in from the side and replace the tube with out having too remove the intake to do it ? If not whats involved in removing the intake? i dont have a book for the car just yet.. but im going to get one ASAP.
Thank you for the help ! I havent looked underneath yet.. I will do that tomorrow though.. I can immagine that any way i do it, its going to be a real pain to get too. Do you recomend going to honda for the molded plastic hose? or would a piece of fuel line work in place of it ?
hmmm. No. I have a box full of random hose bits, I probably just rummaged in it. I think 3/8", maybe? The difficulty will be getting it to fit the PCV valve body and still fit thru the hole in the manifold.
Alternately, you could just hook it up and go between the intake runners but not thru that hole. Just zip-tie the valve in place. Make sense?
yep That makes sense! i think i might just have too go the zip tie route depending on how it goes. Ill keep you posted on the progress..Thank u very much for the help
