Spray it a couple of times daily with a good penetrant, giving the oil a chance to do its thing.
    Blaster's PB is highly recommended.
If you do damage the bolt, no big deal. It's nothing special-just get another one.
  • PB blaster is a dream but like Bam said you have to give it a chance to work.

ok im doing this tomorrow with a mechanic outside my house.
if i break it i just get replacement at a hardware store or anywhere specifically.
im pretty sure a hardware store thats where i got the self locking nuts and the bolts caught my eye but i didnt know the measurements of it (service manual doesnt state either) so if i break it ill just take it and hopefully they have it.
    Thanks.

A hardware store bolt will work, but the real-deal Honda bolt is preferable because of the length of the shoulder. Just snag one from a junker when you get the chance. Good luck!

lol hopefully the junkyard car doesnt have the same problem.
this is like the 3rd honda ive seen this bolt stuck like hell. :x
  • there are usually indicators, a mark...

    how 'tuff' the metal is...

also as a reference how much torque U
    can or should use...

I had the same problem with mine. Had at least three that I had to cut off with a grinder and a cutting wheel. I managed to remove a nice chunk of thumb while I was at it. Mine had become one with the metal bushing. Neither heat or penetrating oil helped a bit. Good luck.
  • ive had this problem before as well. if you snap the bolt cause its rusted into the bushing sleeve you may as well start looking at replacing the bushing or getting replacement LCAs. i had to do this on my old eg sedan when i put new struts and coil-overs on.

best of luck with the wrenching.

If the penetrant spray doesn't help, then try going to your local muffler and have them put some heat to it with an oxy/acetylene torch. When that bolt starts to get red hot then you can put your socket to it and cross your fingers. This has worked for me several times. Good luck.

i've broken the head off rear suspension bolts countless times on many different EF's. that's why i currently have 1 teg LCA and 1 EF LCA on my wagon. i couldn't imagine doing anything on my car without easy access to a parts car. good luck to you sir.

Pretty much any torch that can get the bolt red hot will do.

the rear sub frame bolt came out easy for me, the outer 2 on both of mine were trash, i went to honda for new ones when i did the poly bushings and struts.
