Traded for a rt4wd wagon today

hi guys... new to this forum. with 12 years into cars this is my first civic ive ever gotten. i traded my daily driver automatic DA for it. think it was worth it? in my opinion i honestly think i got ripped off since i had to drive 8 hours total for it. him 4. but it snows a lot here and the da sucked this year. so thinking snow wise, wasn't too bad of a deal.

traded this:

for this:

so first off, the guy said that he has owned over 10 civics and fixed them all up. okay??? has a zc motor. he said the clutch was good, runs good, etc...
i get home and do some city driving. the clutch is out, axles click really bad, radiator hose is bout to explode, and when i took off on it the check light came on, wtf??? speedometer doesnt work, which he did tell me. so i was wondering are ef or crx speedometers the same then? same as the axles. what are innerchangable and what are not.

plans... just gonna slam this thing and put some gsr rims on it. maybe boost later. thanks for reading!

You traded up! DA Integras are just shipping crates for engine swaps.

I would say the other guy got ripped off, not you, because he no longer has a wagon! I am jealous, I want a Red RT4WD so bad! Nice trade!

You scored that wagon is sick. all those problems may seem like a lot but for a few hundred bucks they can all be fixed. i would take a few mechanical issues over a banged up body anyday and from that pic she looks like she is in good shape.

P.S. Boost it asap my old wagon had a stock a6 with 200k miles with a very mild set-up funnest car i ever owned!

Nice way to start the day!
  • haha. thanks guys for the warm introduction to the forum. yea the small problems isn't a big deal to me. you know how it is, when you buy a car every little thing is noticable until you fix it or get use to it. plus i know how it is getting a 20+ year old car.

turbo_teg is spot on , the minor mechanical stuff is not that big a deal . Nice Wagon . I think the other guy got the short end of the deal . Dude the body looks right on your wagon . As far as your speedo , it should just be the cable . Mine crapped out on me after I buried it . Plus being that old they just tend to give up the ghost . I belive the speedo out of a CRX will work as long as you have the right year ( 88-89 / 90-91 ) . Just the gauges , not the housing cover .
