Renew Honda Center Caps.

Well i went to the junkyard today and stumled upon a couple of these. And decided to clean them up a bit and put them on my blackies for fun. So i want to share with you how "i" renewed these crappy junkyard honda center caps.
Supplies:
I used a chrome cleaning solvent.
Steel wool
Flat black paint.
Clear coat paint.
Stanley blade.
Painters Tape.
First of is clean them a bit with water scrub dirt if necessary.
After apply lots of the solvent around the chrome parts of the caps and scrub away with the steel wool. Do this too all four caps. and you will be left with some nice looking chrome.

the far left cap is the cleaned one turned out to be a chrome cap. Cap types vary on how dirty they are. this is before the scrubing didnt take a picture sorry.
When done, apply painters tape around all four caps. Run your fingers gently around the H on the caps on top of the tape so you know where to cut. Get your stanley blade and and cut around the H and on the edges of the cirlce inside the cap. Peel of the center of the tape where the edges were cut and you have the H in blue and the black ready to be painted.
Lay all flat somewhere to paint and apply flat black paint. Apply a couple of coats of it. After done with coats apply some clear coat then let dry. I waited a day till i removed the tape. Time varies.

Then peel all the tape and apply to your rims. Sorry for the crappy lugs getting new ones.

Just wanted to put this up. :P

Aircraft stripper(people like me dont have access to this so i have to DIY)
You can get aircraft stripper at autozone or even home depot. I think thats just the name of the stuff but it works really well. Walmart may have it too.
I didnt know where to get it or what it was.
I just put this together didnt really think of anything but the DIY. 8)
i know...
dont use degreaser on plastic...
the methane-based-stuff...
and...
you can glue plexiglas with it...
enough said...
(off-topic)
actually that was what i was fishing for...
are they metal or plastic with chrome...
it's a common mistake people make...
especially the ones who can read...
Nice work cleaning them up. The beauty of these center caps is you can make them work with a lot of aftermarket wheels. Although mine are chipped up a little now because of out gravel roads, here's mine...
I'm thinking about painting the H yellow but I dunno.
but btw...
whats his picture doing up here ^
