Are any of you using this hitch for towing?

It states it is a class 1 and 2 hitch. Just looking for some feedback. I have another hitch that I was debating converting to fit my rt4wd.

  • I'm wondering how that bolts up. No under shots Bill?

Lol, yeah how about some close ups?

I noticed on the listing it states it requires drilling. So my guess is that it goes behind the bumper and you have to drill it into the car and then just run some bolts?
  • That's what I was kind of thinking. You would think even 1k lbs would end up tweaking the rear end if it's just drilled into the body,...wouldn't it? It's funny I have the same hitch...it came with the wagon, but I didn't put it on because I thought drilling into the body would be a bad thing.

hope this helps with the install... i had no problems with the hitch ever...
i only hauled around that jetski all summer (approx 900lbs)- loading and
unloading at the boat ramp... no problem...

it doesnt tweak anything... drilling into the body isnt a bad thing; people do much
    worse to their cars....

The drilling wasn't what I was necessarily worried about. More of 1K pound pulling on that one spot. I guess I'm just thinking the body is weaker than it actually is. Now that I know it's been successful, I may put this free hitch to use. 8)

Would you feel comfortable towing an 84-91 Crx or Civic hatchback with it?

Actually I did mean California to Minnesota or Texas to Minnesota.

I may have to just get it and do some test runs

I hope you have your own car dolly to tow the other car on. None of the rental places will rent you one if you are using a 4 cylinder car to pull it with. :(
