New from Vegas...

Been nosing around this site for a while. Finally got around to joining. Got a 1991 2wd wagon with a dual point. Currently parked 180 miles away at my Parents house. Got it on the cheap with a blown head gasket. Yanked the motor cause I was going to swap it for another D15b outta a "no title parts car" I picked up. Now Dads got me talked into just rebuilding the original motor cause other motors history is unknown. Although it fired up and ran good. Had evidence of maintenance with oil change reminder stickers on windshield. Oh well dependable motor till money for a "real swap" :D Already put in a USDM 91 Civic SI drivers seat on a modified set of wagon seat rails. Super east if you can Weld/Braze. I'll remember to take pics and do a write up when I do the passenger seat. Sorry I don't have pics. Camera took a dump when I was up there Thanksgiving weekend. Anyway I'm excited and got big plans.
BTW anyone else from the Las Vegas, NV area?

This works too. Orange hand cleaner and a toothbrush for the tight spots is what we used on this tranny.

Here's the wagon in the Laboratory at my Parents house. If I had room and half the tools Pops has, I'd work on it at home.

So true, I have a girlfriend that is the same way.

Georgie, you have it made with your woman supporting and even helping with your wagon love. A guy I know just moved out to vegas a couple weeks ago, he is a honda guy. I don't know if you have seen his car but a lot of people have, he has the rat rodded eg coupe that everyone hates on hater tech. If you search google images and type in rice rod his is the very first pic. He is a good guy and recently joined the local vegas forum.

I haven't done any research on the car as far as Car Fax etc... I do know it still has a dealership sticker from Arizona on the hatch. The guy I brought it from sold it cause he blew the head gasket and said he bought it years ago in Arizona. It's rust free. It was in a mild fender bender on the front at some point in it's life and put back together... Hope to have the power plant rebuilt soon and rolling.
  • uh yeah. I kicked Georgie for posting that horrible pic of me cleaning that tranny.. You know babe, mom would kill you if you worked on the cars here at the house!! Why haven't you posted any good pics of the new seats we put in a couple weeks ago? they look MUCH better than these grey ones here.

We would love to be able to meet up with anyone here in the area who's into the wagons as well. So anytime you guys come up from AZ, hit us up! :)

    *hun- I'm watching you! LOL*
  • By the way- I don't get mad at him for working on the cars- we make it like a family thing. He even gets our daughter out to help do minor maintenance on the Aveo. We LOVE it!! Only complaint I ever have is him being on the forums half the night! :P  I really don't mind it. it's all good.
