Honda has confirmed two new models for 2010...

a Crossover called the CrossTour (tba)
and the CR-Z

the Crossover will be based on the accord and will be a WAGON with available AWD! some spy shots indicate it will look a bit like the Euro accord (which looks very nice).

the other one, the CR-Z is also a pretty exciting new model to look forward to. its kind of like the CRX, and will be a hybrid i think.

with all this hubbub, perhaps there will eventually be a new Civic Wagon, which would be a perfect runner up to the extremely successful Mazda3. fingers crossed =)

im really curious about this new Crossover. i hope its not going to try to be like the Toyota Venza thing, its way too much of a bigass.

just thought i´d share.

  • Civic wagon place is/was taken by the Honda Fit. That's all we get. Almost the same as ours... 5-Doors, 1.5 liter engine, special folding rear seats, 4WD in Japan.......

Without 4wd, it's NOT a replacement for the Civic wagon, IMO. Nothing against the 2wd wagons - I had one, too. That, and having driven a Fit, is how I know I like the older wagons much much better.

CR-Z - interesting. I'm curious to see what that'll turn out to be...

Fit may have taken it over, for now, until Honda starts to realize the popularity of the Mazda3. i still think we may eventually see a wagon. europe right now has a 5-door civic, not very pretty though. BUT, come next gen civic, we may very well see a new wagon in America.

first we get that Accord CrossTour wagon, then the civic

about as exciting as our 92 HP Wagons.
FYI new Fit has 117 HP and is actually quite fun to drive. though its still really slow...

We now have the '07 Fit (bought about a month ago) and I still have my '89 Wagon. Driving the Fit feels very similar to driving my Wagon, actually. I've heard the later Fit (maybe as of '09?) has had its ride mushied-up (more like the newer Civics, yuk) and is therefore less fun to drive. It's hard to believe there's only 107hp under there, it feels like a much faster ride. A bit noisy at high speed, but I'm used to that, ha ha.

The Fit gets great mileage (our experience so far has been 37mpg and up). It also has insane cargo space. My hubby and son went bike riding yesterday afternoon and both bikes fit in the back with the hatch closed. :)

Still not getting rid of the Wagon though! My 6 year old insists it's going to be his car when he's big enough to drive. And yes, he means "big enough", not "old enough". He's going to want driving lessons as soon as his feet can reach the pedals.
