Options regarding alternators

Driving home after work yesterday, I yet again experienced the lighting of the battery light, loss of my tach, slow as molasses wipers in a heavy downpour, dimming headlights, and no radio. I guess I'm going to have to change my alternator again!
Now, what would be my best option?
1. replace it with a rebuilt one from any of the local auto parts stores
2. rebuild it as suggested elswhere in this forum
3. if it fits, pull the one from my dad's 94 accord that has been sitting for a year or so now or
4. go to the local u pull it and pull one or several from another wagon or ef.
Thanks!
On a side note... the tow truck operator who brought me and the wagon home had his girlfriend riding with him and boy was she cute!
Also watched Fast & Furious last night. I liked it, especially Jordana Brewster!

haha thats awesome. great post!
ehhh but i would prolly but a rebuilt one. they are like $100 and some have lifetime warranties
The one that went bad, I had bought 3.5 years and 30,000 miles ago with a lifetime warranty (from Advance Auto Parts), and so I got the new one for free. I've also payed local shops to "rebuild" alternators in the past (just did the brushes, I think)... they didn't seem to last any longer and only had like a 90 day warranty, but it was cheaper. I guess it all depends on how long you plan to keep the car.
may we know the years of accord/prelude. thanks
wagon.....................................4ever...........................
dont know all the years off the top of my head (sorry)
but any B/D/F/H series Alt will work with any other, the only thing you need to change is the pulleys
