Front brakes "crunching" when I brake

Earlier this summer I changed my front discs and pads. Before this I used to get a "crunching" sound when braking so I said "F**K IT" I'll just change everything...
I had a friend walk me through the procedure and everything went smoothly... and the crunching noise was gone...
HOWEVER, I've noticed the crunching noise is back, usually after 20-30 minutes of driving.
It only seems to be coming from the right side so I took that side apart... and I can't see anything amiss...
Anyone have any suggestions on what I should do?? This goes beyond my level of competence.
