holy rear sub frame batman! nightmare inducing pics inside.

I was looking at my rear sub frame today and noticed a rust sized hole about the size/shape of a baby dill pickle! that's not all, i also see what i suspect to be a massive dent on the right side. anyway, could someone go take a snapshot of the under side of their rear sub frame for me. that would be outstanding. thanks.

Yeah, mine is pretty rusty too, but at least they're not part of the body... if you find a good one you can swap them out pretty easily.... me thinks...

Well it's not 'pretty easy' but as you said at least they aren't part of the rear end of the car. I think on the hatch and CRX the upper section is part of the body.

yes, thank god the wagon has a bolt on rear sub frame. the other EF's are welded on.

Well if you decide you want to replace it, and you'll cover Greyhound from Surrey, and $10 for beers while I package it up, I have a rust free FWD rear subframe here for you to swap in.

i may take you up on that... however i SHOULD have one at my parents place at my EF graveyard. I know i HAD one off, if it's still there or not is another issue.
  • from experience with my friends, you can use a 2wd and just drill out the spot welds on the RT4wd and take the bracket off and weld it onto the 2wd one
