takin the fenders off

Need to pull both my front fenders.
I have the bumper off. Headlight out. Have all the bolts taken out. And have the screws out (that hold the mud flap)
Do I need to pull the kickpanel that goes from the front to the back wheel? And how does all the splash guard attached to the fender come free?

the fender seems somewhat free, but there is defenently hanging on to something right by the bottom of the door.

Just being really carefull..... didn't realize that the fenders were soda can thin! So i don't wanna apply any force in the wrong direction and screw them up.

There are two bolts at the bottom of the fender. One under the rocker cover that bolts into the metal rocker and another that bolts into the door hinge post (open the door to see it). The splash shield can stay in but there are plastic retainers that hold it to the fender that need to be removed. I hope this helps.

ok so there's another bolt under the rocker cover. So I need to take the rocker cover all the way off?

You may be able to just take the front off and get in there to the bolt, but it would be easier to totally remove the cover.

thanks! I was able to pop out the clips and pull the rocker cover halfway back. Plenty of room to get that last bolt out.

Then I went on to trying to get those plastic plug/ screws loose. What a pain in the ass!
I decided to come in and see if the local honda dealership could get me replacment pieces. 30 in stock, $1.29 a piece.
For the time I save messing with those hardened pieces of crap I'll gladly lay out the $ for new ones.
Long story short I cut the old ones out. Got the fender off.
    thanks!
