Here we go!Where's the car at and when can I go get it? :)
  • RevmaynardRevmaynard Council Member
At my house, you're welcome to come get it anytime. The sooner we can pull the swap the sooner I can get rid of the shell.

Let's wait 'til after this weekend. I want to get 'er done pretty quick so I can get back to my project.. yer timing sucks, Rev! Should be pretty straightforward- running swap car has all the parts needed, obd0 means easy wiring etc. Just have to come up with exhaust and intake...
  • RevmaynardRevmaynard Council Member
I have an ebay intake for it but it was sitting close to the battery terminal so we took it off, it's sitting in the back seat. :)

Are you smog-exempt with this car? I have a (probably good) cat. Also have 2 1/2" tubing and a welder :o

Them Civics and Integras are like sheep to the slaughter for our wagons eh?

    The revolution begins NOW.

Coming along nicely Rev, can't wait to see the cream machine with a B under the bonnet.
  • RevmaynardRevmaynard Council Member
Bam- Yep, I'm registered 60-70 miles from my house in a smog-exempt county. LOL

Haydz- Thanks man! I'm really excited about getting this all done. I want to do some extended top hats, too! :)

Got the rear interior back in and everyone cleaned their cars up today for our NW meet tomorrow.
  • Hey, Rev. If that glider is in good shape, I know there are some electric car guys who'd like to buy it. Put it up on eBay, The EV Tradin' Post, or diyelectriccar.com and you'll probably get a quick sale.

Rev going B!!!! Nice!!!! Cant wait to see. Good luck my friend!
  • RevmaynardRevmaynard Council Member
Judebert- Wtf is a glider? LOL The picture in front of the shop is at Bam-bam's house. So maybe he's the one you need to talk to. LOL

Thanks NJ, hopefully we can knock it out so I can enjoy some power, finally. LOL

My car is a lot slower now the rear interior is in. Also put some heavier wheels on today. :)

Well, I got the organ donor back to the lab...

    13.jpg

    14.jpg

and figured we'd have a pretty straightforward swap. It was not to be. I pulled the dipstick and found chocolate milk, ughh. At first I considered just doing the head gasket with the engine still in the teg, so I could run it and get it right before doing the swap

    15.jpg

but after checking it out, we decided a full rebuild was in order. It has been sitting around with water in it too long :(

Thanks for the pictures man. Hopefully it won't give us too many more problems. LOL

Also, Dare was saying they didn't have a ys1 trans in 90-91 just now...so a 92-93 clutch it is?
  • bam-bambam-bam Council Member
yeah, I'm pretty sure it's the larger shaft one.
  • RevmaynardRevmaynard Council Member
So, 92-93 is the larger one, right?

Got it all torn down and cleaned up

    22.jpg

The head looks freshly reworked, but all 4 valves on #1 leaked...?That cylinder wasn't firing, the spark plug well was full of water/oil sludge, plug was gas-fouled...weird. All 4 had 175psi compression, but 1 did come up slower.

Anyway, after checking the head out, I decided to save some cash the shadetree way

    23.jpg

    24.jpg

Managed to get 3 holes rough-honed before the power went out
