wagon shudders!!!

I have a 91 rt4wd manual. I just finished replacing most of the suspension, including rubber bushings for lower arms. I also put in 2 new/rebuilt axles. When I went to tighten the axle nut, it started to bind the axle and the knuckle, to where you couldn't even turn the wheel. So i pulled the dust cap off the back of the knuckle, and put it all back together and it stopped binding....BUT....now the whole front end seems to shudder under load. I mean while driving it's completely unnoticeable, but when you take off from a stop sign, or turn a corner and any time you speed up the whole front end shakes. I don't know what a bad diff feels like, and i also don't know what bad wheel bearings feel like either, but i would imagine wheel bearings would feel/sound different. one of the new/rebuilt axles also sounds like it has bad bearings in it right from the start, but i don't think that's making the car shudder. Can anyone confirm that the axles out of a 93 Teggy (without abs) will fit in my car? I do have a 91 hatch with zc and brand NEW axles that i could pull. Any info at all would be a huge help........oh by the way when the car is on the ground, there isn't any noticeable free-play in the wheels, but when i lift the front wheels off the ground, and spin one wheel, it takes probably about 15 deg. turn before the other front wheel starts moving the opposite direction...i don't know what that says about my differential. Thanks in advance to anyone whom can help this frusterated guy out.

i just had that same problem well with the binding on my crx and i just got pissed and drove it about a mile and the thing loosened up i assume it just was with the brake caliper and i think that was true

as for the shudder that is strange it would not be a wheel bearing they just hum and get louder at higher speeds or when you turn
say in the time maybe like turning left and your right front is bad that extra load will make it extra loud

with that diff if it wasnt showing those signs before i dont think its suddenly a diff..

the teg axle's do fit i think and but if its allwheel drive the crx axles wont fit oh wait its a ZC i think that might fit try it and tell all of us hahahhaha

i think the binding is a bad bearing in the new remanned axle.....tomorrow i'll talk to the guy at bumper-to-bumper and see if we can't swap out these axles for some NEW non-remanned 93 teg (non-abs) axles, or at least see if he can order them for comparison of splines count and diameters. i don't have a zc in my wagon; everything is stock, but the formula for my 91 std hatch with a zc is 93 teg axles, and knuckles from a 91 si. i read on this board somewhere that these 93 teg axles will fit in a rt4wd so i'll cross my fingers. all suggestions are welcome here.....

well i got 2 more regrinds under warranty.....that solved most the problem. i can still feel a very slight binding when driving on long sweepers where there's constant pressure. i'll probably use these for a while and hopefully eventually get some new oem pieces (over $700.)

    that really odd man
is it front wheel cause if so just try to hunt some decent ones from a junk yard any civic will work and maybe later model too ... and rebuild them 700 is insane ... every axle ive ever dealt with gave me no problems ..

it's a rt4wd, so most civics (hatch/sedan) axles won't work here in the u.s. anyway. they are equal length axles with an intermediate shaft. i know the integra axles will fit in both the transaxle/intermediate shaft, and the hubs...but i was informed by marty at raxles that they are different lengths soo that won't work either. actually, it almost seems like they're giving me teg axles since they are kinda bindy right outta the box. i did have them double-check the # and they're correct according to bumper-to-bumper. anybody on this forum have any axles for a rt4wd that they want to part with? i already posted for used ones on the parts for sale forum.
