Ok, so, never looked into HID's before. But I am interested in hearing about them. Pro's and Con's guys! Thanks. Also, what is the install like? It's not just put your bulbs in and roll, right?
Depends on who you ask.. Some people get all pissy and say you need to convert your headligts for the bulbs blah blah blah..

I have 12k HIDs and they are a lot better than stock lights.. I have had people be like oh you can't see as well because your lights are not made for them.. blah blah..
So, I can just get bulbs/kit and it WILL work. Someone was talking about having to wire into your battery and it just didn't seem that was the case with most people I know who have them.

Yeah I was under the impression that you cut your light harness and wire it to the ballast box then that goes to bulbs that fit into your lights like the stock 9006's. I want to do this too but not if I can't make look close to stock.
Most oem systems are 4300K most aftermarket kits start at 6K. I have 6k in all of my cars.. the higher the number the more blue to purple it goes.. hence less output. I suggest running a relay harness pack. the aftermarket HID are only 35watts but the initial turn on will draw upwards of 25 amps. This is not good for the oem system. any more questions post it up.. I've been retrofitting HIDS since '98

This is my buddies shop here in Richmond. http://www.hidoutlet.ca/ He has a bunch of different kits available, I usually go with the JS system and the relay pack.. There are lots of brands on the market, you just need to fins one thats in your price range

last time I looked at honda relays they were 30A switching?
i install these kit's on a daily basis as well. i have mixed feeling's about them.
the first is yes it does matter how the housing is made to reflect the light the right way, some work others dont (oem)
the aftermarket (projector style) housing, they totaly suck!! the kits can be a pain in the ass cause people always complain, "i cant see!" so yea the housing matters. a satilite dish style reflector is the best for the setup. if your cars housing replicates a dish pretty well your in luck.
second you need a relay lit for the daytime running system's also the automatic turn on system's. we see some fuse issues sometimes, and then compensate.
third i have yet to see a kit (aftermarket) that is worth a damn, they just dont last! where i work we have gone thru at least 10 different company's and it seems to be all the same! they do however come with a 6 month warranty, but how ever most ballast's cant live past a year, and as little as a month (relay kit or not) i can say if you can find a built in japan digital kit they seem to live longer. and note its not the bulb, its the ballasts the fail.
and for the people who install their own kits, 9006/9005 honda plugs are real tight, if you think the kit is not working, first check the plug push it together as hard as possible. mount the ballast away from the heat! and keep it from excessive vibrations. water is not generally an issue, we have a kit for each color bulb inside a fish tank, (bulb and ballast) and have worked fine for over a year,(sale's pitch), kinda doesnt make sence to tell ya the truth the problems with the kits might just have something to do with the fluctuation of a cars charging system.
i pesonally get oem hid's from junk yards and convert them to fit. i have a kit from a lexus thats over 5years old and still work, but again thats oem. 8)
so good luck, buy 2 sets i say, cause if one goes out you have one to put in right away! nothing like a silverstar bulb in 1 side and hid in the other
But something good about HIDs is you can get them for like $50 + free shipping on EBAY and it would cost you around $40-45 for some good bulbs from your local parts store. So the price is almost there, yes HIDs are more prone to failure but they make the car look crisp and are roughly the same price of a good set of Xenon bulbs.
try www.tspny.com they have a sale on HID kits.. it cost me $80.67 for a direct plug and play HID kit, shipped to my door. I got them 2 days later, they work great, i've oreder 3 sets so far.
they offer from 6-12k... 12k having the most color but less light.. i went for the 8k so they are bright, but still have a tint of blue. they took 20minutes to install.
yeah the kits include 2 bulds all the wires ballast and hardware for mounting the ballasts.. everything included.. oh yeah they also come with a 1 year warranty...
they are direct plug and play kits.. remove your bulb from your headlight, install new hid bulb, plug the factory harness into the new hid harness.. very simple install..
I have used the ones from www.ddmtuning.com. Pretty cheap, digital ballasts, and a good warranty on them as well. Plus they offer 4300k, and one of the only ones to offer an H1 capsule for the high beams in my S2k
must be white here in the netherlands, so anything more than 5k could get you a penalty ...
ofcourse the reflector isnt meant for hid/xenon, but who cares, its nice
to let your beam go everywhere

the pro's you get a cool bright light out the headlights, which at night can make a good upgrade to how your car looks at night. and i love the start up of hid's how it starts dim then brightens up as they warm up. i think thats awsome.. lol
the con's is that they are NOT meant for your car. hid's really need a projector to set the beam right... the headlights we have on our old wagons is meant so when the light hits it, its splits/spreads it a certain way and was really only meant for the oem light bulbs. with a stronger light it kinda sprays erractically and you MIGHT end up blinding someone trying to drive by you... [could potentialy be dangerous].
BUT with all these lifted trucks i seem to drive in front of a lot, with their headlights pointing straight at my rearview mirror i could careless.... lol
Yea, I honestly reccommend the Silverstars to anyone wanting an upgrade. I need to compare the headlights on my wagons to just show the difference for y'all.
I didnt see it cause I skimmed through. But it is illegal to put hid's in a car that didn't come from the factory with them. If I remember right kid at the street races a few years ago got a 250 fine for it. If your willing to hack your stock headlights and retro fit them and aim them right I would say go for it. If you want them cause HID's are just cool dont waste your time and money and just get silverstars.
I've never had any problem with the brightness or color pertaining to cops. All the HID lights will shine WHITE when you put a black sheet of paper in front of it. no matter what the temp(ie 4300k 6000k 12000k)

that is very true... for the LONGEST time i never knew what that little flip was on my rear view.. LOL then i figured it out and it IS VERY USEFUL
if we were to put our cars side by side and compare the color/brightness/length of beam. your silverstar would pale in comparison.
Not giving you ish cause I used to use silverstar platinums but man, for $70 and HID kit is the way to go. the silverstarts are $20 a pop right?
