Brakes - RT4WD wagon vs. Si

So, I have a 1989 RT4WD wagon.

My gf has a 1988 CRX Si.

I've read on the forum that the RT4WD wagon has the same brakes as the Civic/CRX Si. We plan to pick up some Hawk HPS pads for the Si, and I figured while I was at it I might as well save some shipping, order 2 sets, and put one on my wagon.

But the part numbers don't match up. Tire Rack (and others) list part# HB218F.583 for both her 88 Si and an 89 *2WD* wagon. They list part# HB113F.590 for an 89 RT4WD wagon. :?:

Can anyone shed some light before we order? Thanks!

    so they list the 88 Si the same brakes as the 89 2wd wagon? um...

    your best bet would be to buy one set, try it, see if it fits and if not return it.

    Reason was the '88-'89 CRX had smaller pads.The all 4WD & '90-'91 CRX Si had larger pads.

    This explains why the pads weren't right when I ordered brakes for the knuckles that I knew were on my old civic. Tirerack must have had them listed wrong, because I ordered them for a 89 and got the large pads, but once I consented and ordered them for a civic they fit.

    Aaaaaaah! So the 90-91 Si got upgraded to the larger brakes the RT4WD wagon had all along. Got it! Thanks for clarifying!

    Nope, the EX sedan came with Integra sized brakes. I know this cause I bought some DA spindals to convert my girls EX sedan and come to find out they are the same size. So the b-wagon got a upgrade instead.

    HAHA I actually meant that as a question, Would EX brakes be an upgrade over the 90-91 RT4wd???

    yeah they would.

    EX brakes are the same size as the DA. bigger = better
