what type of wheels should i get? im doing the doodle 5lugs

so mr. doodle is finishing up the 5 lug swap for me and i am very excited.

for those who do not know, doodle has created a 5 lug swap for the wagon. he is also able to keep my 4wd a 4wd with stock hand brake.
the wagon is a 4x100 which he was able to make it into a 5x114.3 lug pattern. also making the rears a rotor instead of the drum version.
very inventive guy!

so with that, i wanted to see what others would recommend for the wheels. i would like something that would look nice as well as something that isnt way too out there. other then that if you guys can post up a few specs of the rim you recommend along with a pic in your post that would be very helpful.

thanks.

spec:
size- (width/diameter/offset)
brand -
type of wheel-
color-
(picture link) -

edit:
my wagon is brown.
not lowered right now, but ill probably do it. so hieght is not going to be a problem later on.
as for size im kinda open to anyting larger then 15 inches and no larger then 17 inches.
as for pricing, im not too worried about it cause if its too expensive but i like the look i can either look for a knock off or a used set, so that might just work into the budget.
colors that will work for me:
white, silver, hyper black or metal, grey.
colors that might be open if they look good:
black, brown
colors ill stay away from:
red, blue, green, pink, chrome, yellow.
NO MESH WHEELS. personally not really into them .

well, first of all what color is your car? is it lowered, if so, how much?

for size though i would prolly go with 16x7-8 rims on 195/50/16 tires.
  • There are a lot of 5 lug wheels out there but before we start posting rims we need to know your price range. I can post a whole lot of 5 lug wheels for you that us Nissan guys run but I am sure you have an idea of what size you are looking for so post it up.

These I can get from a guy in Japan.

    ill edit the op.

trying to stay away from chrome, red, blue, black rims.
  • I have some 16x7 kakimoto wheels. nice old school look. Et is 38 on these and they are 2pc.

I could post staggered setups all day for you but I think on the 4wd it is best to keep them all the same because of the 4wd.

Here are some JDM wheels I found real quick.

i think for a Brown wagon hyper black wheels would look ballin'. gold would prolly be to clashy, if i had a brown wagon i'd go red, but you dont want that :D

those Gram Lights that rage posted are pretty damn hawt.
  • quartersquarters Council Member
those Rays Eins are sinfully ugly.

    the gram lights are tight.

anything gunmetal or black with a polished lip is also tight. polished lip is key. IMO.

curious how much would u be able to get these for(the non chrome ones)?

what are the size, width, and offset selection available for these?
  • The smallest I can get them in is 17x9. Offset can be fully customized but I think it is too much rim for a wagon. I hadn't checked on sizing until now. Plus shipped to you will cost you 3000 bucks. Probably too much wheel for the wago but still sexy.
  • These are pretty nice. Enkei Racing wheels

  • Why don't you rock some s2000 wheels. They look pretty good shouldn't be too expensive either. Just another idea.

which ones are you thinking of. i dont really remember the look.
  • These would look pretty sweet I think. Staying with the Honda line and all.

    16's

  • Not sure if many are going to agree with me, but if I had a five lug Wagon with RT4wd, I would probally pick up some Stock Honda CRV wheels for it.

do you happen to know the specs of the rims?
    width and offset?
  • I think they are 16x7. Not sure about offset though. I still think they would look oh so nice on a wagon.

still cant find a set locally.
  • Keep looking man because when you find them I will be jealous  I would go five lug too but I am buying a whole slew of parts right now to rebuild the engine in the wife's wagon. Maybe later on I can rock some 5 lugs.

yeah i know what you mean.
i too am building up my engine too.
im doing the whole long block.

cp pistons or arias pistons. low compression trying to stay below 10.00
    eagle rods, still needs notching
either LA sleeves or darton sleeves, either way i am sleeving it.
also cleaning out the engine and doing a 3 axis porting.
    new oil and water pump.
    all new gaskets.
    balance the crankshaft
probably new RC injectors 550cc or so
    aem fpr

on the heads, im going probably with supertech.
new springs rated at 10k-11k rpm
retainers, titanium or aluminum, not too sure yet.
    valves
    regrind or new camshaft

i may have missed something but ill do a build thread once i get this started.

    on the brakes.
im going with mr.doodle's 5x114.3 lug conversion with my 4wd stock setup.
ill also be getting the skunk2 camber kit. for the front and rear.
  • Well I am not going that crazy

Just a full rebuild on the motor as I don't want any weak points when the little turbo is installed. Not trying to break any records with this motor just trying to get a little more performance.

You will have one banging motor when you are done.
