Sohc vtec?

I'm stuck
I have been looking at a D15D vtec and the more easyer to get D16z6.
1. Whats the gas milage between the two?
2. Will they both bolt on to a d15b2 tranny?
3. How forgiving are the vtec's to a T3 turbo?
I'm right now more for the z6 cause there more support for it.
for the z6 will i have to swap the ecu if so with what?

convert from obd0 to obd1 and run a P28 ECU from the 92-96 Si.
fuel mileage will be better/similar to a stock d16, if you turbo, then no.
For now I’m just comparing the Z6 and a h22 to see what will be best suited for me.
I'll worry about turbo ing latter.
Thanks.
In reality you're stock d15 would work as well because fj distributors is making forged rods for those motors. Those plus vitaras would make a solid motor and be a fairly cheap build.
Im looking to upgrade to a mini me.
Are there kits?
Or is it cheeper to get the parts.
I found on creigslist and or ebay a d16z6 head will this head work?
or is it only a certan head?
I also understand ill need to get a mpfi and a ecu.
So whats the scoop on how to do this and what i'll need?
1. What kind of condition is your bottom end in? High mileage and age are putting most stock/original wagon engines on the worn out end of the spectrum. Having a nice new expensive vtec conversion die three months in because the bottom end spins a bearing or the piston rings leak excessively...it sucks.
2. Vtec head swaps increase compression ratio. Not a deal breaker, but not ideal if you plan to go turbo later.
3. You'll need to convert from DPFI to MPFI...which would be true for just about any serious modification, but its a hassle nonetheless.
4. Be cautious in what you purchase...People do not take heads off of perfectly good engines. The z6 is old enough that anything you find is going to have +100k on it(more on this in a second). And sloppy used up mpfi parts, especially distributors, are the biggest culprit for people trying to diagnose while their "new" mini-me isn't running right.
5. The best running mini-mes are converted to obd-1. But its an additional expense and shit is usually adding up at this point.
Personally, I would tell you to look for JDM D15b vtec or sohc vtec zc(this is just the jdm version of the D16z6). A whole engine swap usually goes better than building a mini-me. Its not that its excessively hard, there's just more opportunity to eff something up.
Also, a lot of usdm z6 engines are showing their mileage...but the jdm engines are still relatively less. People will argue, but its true.
The D15b vtec makes roughly the same hp as the D16z6 but you have to wind it up to see the power. The low end is pretty tame, but if you can stay off the vtec, you get incredible gas mileage. And I may be wrong, but doesn't the D15b have the better rod-to-stroke ratio? That would be a "+" when planning for a high revving turbo application...right?
And availability? Sheesh, call any Cali importer and they'll have it to you within the week. Prices are floating around $375-400 right now.
I was just thinking since the head of the motor is Fu*ked might as well upgrade to a mini me and a mpfi. Thus a little more bang for you buck. It will be a daily driver.
Also a noob Question (Looking at a D15B V-Tec for my blue wagon)
Are the D15B V-Tec’s Oil filter, Sparkplug, Cap and rotor, and all the belts the same as the D15B2?
